What can I use on my dog, humans and my house to rid them of the mites

that cause this mange. The dog was given to us a month ago and

developed an itch, I was told it was an allergy to grass by the

previous owner but have now got the itch myself (using Benadryl to

control the itch what herb can I use to replace Benadryl)and the dog

has sores on his back.

I don't want to use the chemicals the vets would prescribe and I can't

afford to take the dog to the vet and clean them out of my house.

Years ago we had some puppies that had the mange and I recognized the

smell last night but can't remember what we used to get rid of it.

Will treating the yard by dusting it with powdered lime or chlorine

bleach clean it up and would it work in the upholstery and carpet in

the house?

Please help me I am going out of my mind with the itch and don't want

my grandkids to get it.

BTW, I am a Ron Paul supporter, too and wish I could have gone to

Minnesota.

I've had good luck with adding fish oil to a dogs diet with this type of problem.

I think there may also be a pine tar oil tx that helps but I'm going back quite a ways in my memory on that one .

good luck.. Mike--- On Sun, 9/7/08, abcsgr22148 <abcsgr22148 wrote:

In addition to adding the oil to the dogs diet, use a box of borax to sprinkle

on the rugs and floors.

If you can make a paste of baking soda (not borax) and water and dab in on the

dogs sores, it should help the itching. Try to keep him from licking. Some vets

or humane organizations will let you borrow a funnel-type collar to keep the dog

from scratching and licking the sores and paste.

your defender -- your dog. You are

his life, his love, his leader.

He will be yours, faithful and

true, to the last beat of his heart.

You owe it to him to be worthy

of such devotion. " - unknown
