I have used onion poultice on chest with great success. Also can add small amt. of essential oil

in a few tsp. of olive oil and apply to chest and sometimes neck.

Can use mullein & lobelia neck wrap.

Take half a teaspoon of honey and add some fresh squeezed lemon . I only use raw honey. Let it dissolve very slowly in mouth before you swallow . I have been told not good to give honey to a child under 2, but really do not know anything about that. Whether they are talking unpasturized, etc. Not sure. This works for minor coughs due to allergies, colds, etc.

(3 cloves)garlic with the honey(1 tablespoon) and cayenne(1/8 teaspoon) It reduces cough, soothes throat. This I have tried and it helped tremendously.

I was on a business trip, and stopped by this herbalist's farm, as I had a horrific cough, and he made me a tea from plaintain and hyssop leaves and I put in a thermos and off I went .

All in all, best to find out the cause of the cough, vs. just using a treatment for the symptom.

I am not sure of these remedies when it comes to a child. Maybe someone else can chime in here.

Hope this helps.

Hi everyone,I was just wondering if anyone could suggest any remedy for a "croopy cough". My son has allergies and it seems like he has had this cough all summer. I ussually only hear him cough at night when he lays down. It's only a deal if it's where you want to go. Find your travel deal here.
