Guest guest
I live in Iowa...so winters are harsh here. Do you thinkk I'd be better off planting in a pot inside the house..? - Bryan herbal_remedies Wednesday, September 03, 2008 5:30 PM {Herbal Remedies} Get ready to plant Garlic Almost time to plant your Garlic. Guest guest
Bryan.. I live on East Coast of Florida, coastal area. I would gather I could plant garlic at any time, is this correct? There are times, we have no cold spells in winter time, and did not know if bulbs would need some cold to prosper. Thanks DM In a message dated 9/3/2008 6:33:52 P.M. Guest guest
No! I think garlic needs the cold to make a clove into a whole bulb under ground. Get a stick and plant about five inches down, point up, four inches apart. It will come up in the spring and then you can water it a little. Guest guest
Rock on!!!! Everybody should at least have some garlic going. So easy and over winter two bulbs turn into twenty. ~B Teddyberen wrote: Bryan, I love this message. Just great. Guest guest
I planted a single garlic clove when I lived in Florida and it became a plant but it grew more like a scallion. No bulb. I think the soil was just bad but I have heard that garlic needs a little cold to form bulbs. I Don't know but experiment away and tell me how it goes. If you just get long garlic that look like green onions it still good garlic. If you get bulbs it I will add it to our library of knowledge here at the academy. ~B Teddyberen wrote: Bryan.. Guest guest
Super cool. Loved the site. The fire piston is awesome. Thank you for sharing data that increases the survival of my family and I. That is the true definition of a friend. ~B Sandy Bryan, after reading your introduction I wondered if you'd seen or made one of these before? It's called a 'Fire Piston', and we've made dozens, used them for years camping. It's a real lifesaver. Guest guest
Brian,I bought about 10 lbs of garlic from a local organic garlic farm here in CT. I am wondering if I can plant some of the bulbs to grow my own next year. They have only been dried so I suspect that the answer is yes. Any ideas?Thanksjohn--- On Wed, 9/3/08, Bryan <BryanShillington wrote:Bryan <BryanShillington{Herbal Remedies} Get ready to plant Garlicherbal_remedies Date: Wednesday, September 3, 2008, 6:30 PM Almost time to plant your Garlic.
