I came across this book at our Flea Market here in Florida.

I found it to be a heartfelt book for children with a great purpose.

This book encompasses gardening, nutrition, recipes, feeding the hungry

families here in America and is a composite of memories and

beautiful art by people (some famous) who love gardening and

share their childhood memories and pleasure moments with the

reader.

The group SOS - Share Our Strength - has been working

for many years on the same idea as the Victory Gardens that were

so uniting and helpful for our country in supporting the war effort.

Incidentally, the health of the US citizens was at it highest when we

were all growing our own food or most of it.

Michael and the group SOS are saying we need the same unity

and purpose now to turn our country into one that is sustainable and

were all people have good, nutritious food to eat and none go hungry.

If you put this title into the search engines you will find the book

from $.64 cents each with $3.99 SH all the way up to $72.00 just for

the book.

I didn't figure out the differences except for new and used.

Anyway it is very aesthetic and an enjoyable read for adults as well as

children.

Do you know the maximum number of rows of corn on a cob?

What about the maximum number of individual corn per row?

This is answered in the book and I think it would be fun to see how accurate

the data is. I'm thinking I could find a bigger ear of corn.

All in fun -

Valorie
