Non Electric Water Filters

A couple of people have sent me private notes on what one would do if

there was no electricity, and because it is such a good question and

also falls under the heading of being prepared in case of Emergencies,

I thought I'd get into more detail on this.

 

There is a company called Aqua Rain (and a couple of others called

British Berkfield, and Katadyn) that make a ceramic filter that removes

carcinogens and pathogens from rain water, city water and / or pond

water. These are excellent but the Aqua Rain is best.

My company Organic Solutions sells these by the way for only $225. but

you are welcome to order these directly from the manufacturer above and

get them a little quicker even though they are a little more pricey

when you buy them direct.

 

Unlike a distillery, they won't work with Sea Water, and when you pass

City Water through them, they take out a great deal, but not all the

Fluoride. In a pinch it can be a life saver, and I have one in my

kitchen being used all the time. For the nonce, I use it by running

distilled water through it and for the extra storage, while ensuring it

is handy in case of an emergency.
