Guest guest
Thanks Sheila I appreciate the help on this. Now we're starting to get some where. But even though they may not be a public company (traded on the Stock Market), in a Family Owned business (LLC, S-Corp, etc.) there are still shareholders. This is what we need to find out. Who are the shareholders of this company????? Is it ALL Family Owned???? orrrrrrr is there an invisible rotten Apple in the barrel who just happens to pull the strings from the background?????? Love, Doc http://www.mars.com/global/About+us/ Today Mars is a $18bn business operating in over 65 countries. Perhaps more surprisingly, and unusual for a business of our size, we are still privately owned - making us one of the largest 'small family businesses' in the world. When I did my original investigation of SOY Protein Powder mentioned in my "Frankenfood" article in the Files, I managed to discover that Protein Tech was a subsidiary of Dupont and that infamous International Banking Family. I just received a note from a list member that stated that the Mars family is very private and doesn't do interviews. I'd like to find out exactly what their connections are rather than stating what we don't know. If we could call up the company and find out if they are owned by another, this would be a big help. I asked her "Who owns Seeds of Change?" She told me they are owned by Mars Incorporated. I then told her that there was a rumor going around that they had been bought out by Monsanto. Her response was that Seeds of Change is against GMO and that they have a VISION and are happy with the lifestyle they have. She said they have a very good working relationship and are happy working with Mars. Helena added that 80 to 90 % of the seed companies are owned by Monsanto. She also commented that I might know Mars better as the chocolate industry and manufactures of Uncle Ben's. I thanked her for the information and then pulled up Mars Incorporated which is a very large - international company. If someone out there would please see what you can come up with on who owns Mars Incorporated, I'd appreciate it. Maybe we can save Doc some time. I'm sure he will dive into this when he has time but if we can take this off his plate, all the better.
