Guest guest
Why People Stay Fat There are three reasons why people become, and then stay fat. The three very simple points that follow also explain why many people get and then stay sick so much of the time throughout the year. Since I’ve never met an obese person who didn’t have serious health issues, one could safely say that all overweight people are physically ill. The more obese a person is, the more physical problems they tend to have. These three reasons are: 1. Not doing things you should. 2. Doing things you shouldn’t. 3. A combination of #1 & #2. Therefore, one could say that attaining health and weight loss could be achieved by doing the things one should, not doing the things one shouldn’t, and applying these two ideas at the same time. At first this may seem to be an over simplification, but this holds up in practice on a physical, mental and even a spiritual level. As far as foods are concerned, you may not be eating the foods you really should (quantity and / or quality), or you might be eating the foods you shouldn’t, or as is the usual case, you are guilty of doing both of these at the same time. These ideas are also applicable when it comes to the subjects of exercise or even the kind of friends you hang around. Often when a person goes to the gym, they find they haven’t been working out correctly. But let’s admit it. The usual case is they haven’t been exercising at all. Hanging around the wrong crowd of “friends” or not connecting up with positive, “up” people can also be detrimental to one’s health. The above three concepts have many applications. There is a book written by L. Ron Hubbard on the subject of Detoxification called, “Clear Body, Clear Mind” and I highly recommend that everyone read it or re-read it as the case may be. The information in it is priceless and fully applicable to the subject at hand. The primary idea in the book I’d like to focus on at this time concerns the fact that, “Toxins are stored in the fat cells of the Body”. This is a well known and accepted fact in nutritional circles, and yet no one I know of has included this in any of the modern diets. We need to correlate this with the following facts that I have determined to be crucial: A. The body will not “easily” let go of fat if there are toxins in that fat. This is a self-protection mechanism of the body. B. Toxins that have been forcefully and suddenly released into a body’s system can make a person very ill. This fact alone tends to throw people off of any workable diet program very quickly. Furthermore, Hormonal imbalances are a contributing factor to weight gain, and Hormones are made from Proteins not carbohydrates. Obese people do not get enough high quality protein . = (a “Not Do”) Additionally, there is a “feeling of loss” or a “depression” or an “anxiety” that goes along with the removal of “comfort foods” common with weight loss. This mental fact is difficult to overcome without a lot of will power to help get through it all. But, it can be done, and there are easy solutions to help. And lastly, Physical, Mental and Spiritual STRESS can cause people to turn to these “comfort foods” and other “bad habits” that I’ll list shortly. This stress can come from almost any area including, but not limited to: Having a baby. Loss of a loved one. Marital difficulties. Problems at work with the boss or fellow workers, and so on and so on. There are certain “Triggers” that turn on the body’s production of fat. In their relative order of cause and importance, these are: (Shouldn’t Do’s = Create Toxicity) 1. Sugar 2. Carbohydrates (unknown by many “gurus” both Simple and Complex Carbohydrates cause weight gain unless they are RAW and still have their natural ENZYMES intact). 3. Alcohol. 4. Caffeine (includes Coffee, Black & Green Teas and Chocolate). 5. Tobacco. Where these five triggers tend to deceive one and all, is in the fact that when they are taken to excess, they’ll create the exact opposite effect and can even bring about gauntness (but not always). Don’t let this fool you one little bit. These very skinny people are extremely unhealthy and are almost dead. We can then come to the following conclusions: A. Knock off all of the “Shouldn’t Do’s”. B. To effectively and safely loose weight, people must do a Purification / Cleansing / Detoxification program first! C. Get rid of ALL of the unnecessary FAT on your body (down to your ideal weight) to be safely out of the woods. Any remaining toxins can still cause hormonal imbalances that will cause weight to rapidly return, and start the Merry-Go-Round all over again. D. A diet that contains the right QUANTITY of the highest QUALITY proteins is best, and you must not eat commercial meats or meat products. These are deadly and must be avoided at all costs. E. Carbohydrates (both simple and complex) that are not “alive” and “raw” should be severely limited if not excluded altogether. Raw fruits and fresh vegetables made into salads are excellent. Cooked pasta and high starch vegetables have to go. Any grains should be sprouted and eaten in moderation (very small quantities only). F. Hormones must be realigned and brought back into balance. G. You must start an exercise program and stick with it. This should be done on a gradient = a gradual increase of effort. This one is the toughest. H. Get rid of all the negative people in your life. You need to get away from these people, and if it means getting a new job, welllllllll, then so be it. I. These must all be done together. You can’t piecemeal it. You’ve got to complete the entirety of the program. It is always harder to lose weight a second or third or even a fourth time around than it is the first time, but it is never impossible to lose it if you do it the right way, and if you are determined. Ideally, a person should aspire to losing it permanently, and this requires a fine tuning of all of the above. We aren’t just looking at losing a few pounds to feel better for a short period of time. We’re after a permanent win here. And this requires permanent lifestyle changes. This is one of those things that has to be done all the way. There are no half measures. As Yoda was fond of saying, “Do! Or do not! There is no try”. Yours in Knowledge, Health and Freedom, Doc 2007, Ian Shillington N.D. All rights reserved.
