Guest guest
Got Stress ? Do you ever get the feeling some days, that you’re just spinnin’ yer wheels and taking two steps back for every step forward? Then there’s the “good mood versus the bad mood” days when life seems to be just one big up and down rollercoaster. In this modern age with all our labor saving appliances, computers, and other high tech devices, you’d think that life would be a bowl of cherries with leisure time for one and all. Wouldn’t you? And yet the reverse appears to be our daily lot. The old days when the common man was the bread winner in every family are now long gone, and both husband and wife need to work just to pay the bills and keep the family nose above water. “Buy now pay later” is a trap and causes financial stress in the long run. Constant advertising campaigns try to convince us that we are “not successful” unless we have a nice house, 2 cars, nice furniture and so on. Then there’s the current events of the world with wars, terrorism, weapons of mass destruction, and taxes. On top of this constant bombardment of “bad news” there’s our regular workaday world with the stress from our jobs, and the raising of a healthy, happy family. Stress seems to be just one of those things we “naturally” have to live with. We become so used to dealing with it, that it has become the new “Norm”. Well, as a Naturopath, I’m always looking to handle the “Cause” of a problem, so in tracing back to the origin of these stresses it was interesting to discover they lead back to only a couple of sources: 1. The financial obligations that own us and literally control our lives. 2. The News Media. 3. The antisocial people in our lives who hold us down. Knowing this is very fascinating and is very useful in locating the “Cause”. Furthermore, the solution appears before us almost magically. In #1, all we have to do is disagree with having to have so many NICE things, put the TV commercials on “mute” and stop buying! For #2, stop watching the TV News channels and stop reading Newspapers altogether. Handling #3 might be a little more complicated and involved but is still very doable. This might require the quitting of a job, or the getting of a divorce in an extreme situation where one is married to a person who erodes their goals and dreams. Usually it is no more complex than staying away from the negative people who pop up in our lives. It might be as simple as never talking politics with Uncle Ernie when you see him once a year over the holiday season. Basically, all we have to do is weed out the negative characters in our lives as best we can, and distance ourselves from them. I challenge you to try these simple actions: Stop reading and watching the News for just two weeks and see if you don’t feel better. On those ultra-high stress days, try some of our Nerve Sedative Formula and a cup of our Cal-Calm tea, and I wager you’ll feel much better.
