Thanks William, but still looking ;-)I got rid of Norton on my network as it was just slowing things down far too much.

As soon as I switched over to stand alone specialized programs, my puter went into overdrive speedwise.

:)

All the best,

Re: Herbal Remedies - An Excellent Stand Alone SPAM Blocker????????

Two ways to handle it and usually getting a program to try to fix it just adds burdon to the computer and ends up falling behind on updates. If you email is , they have built in spam filters that continuously get updated and block almost all of the spam. For personal emails that through an ISP, some of the ISPs have a course filter that you can implement but it takes a lot of setup to accomplish anything useable. Some providers like AOL or EARTHLINK have their own spam implementation which provide for those wanting to send you a message and get on your approved list to send you a response email. Spammers won't do this so they never get on the approved list and thus no spam. For those using Outlook Express or Outlook (the most used main Microsoft applications for email), I have found that using the filters to filter the people you want to receive messages from works better than trying to filter out the spam. What ends up being left in the Inbox is mostly spam. Take a quick run-through and if there is nothing you want to read, delete the folder contents. Spam gone. Just make sure that you update your filter when you get a new approved email address from someone you want to read mail from. The only way to stop the spam initially is to change your email address. To do this, you will need to email everyone you want to receive email from. You don't have to leave the address changed. You can go back after a period of time but initially, all of the spam will be bounced from the dead email address so they will stop sending to that address (because it fills their inbox with bounced messages).William"Dr. Ian Shillington" <DocShillington wrote:

Thanks Meri, and all the rest of you who responded.

I decided to go with CA Anti Spam and so far it is working very well.

Many thanks to all of you who responded with your advice.

How about Mail Washer? You can view the emails yourself and delete what you want before downloading to your machine. www.mailwasher.net I know that this is what my mother uses (she's a web designer) and she loves it.

Thanks Sheila, I use Knology for my ISP, and have no idea if they offer a spam service.

I'm a little reluctant to let my mail be filtered by a third party.

I get enough intrusion in my life without offering to have one more company do it as well. ;-)

I'd rather have a good program on my end do it for me.

Buttttttttt, thanks for the suggestion.

Love,

Doc

Don't know if this will help or not, but this link http://antispam./domainkeys was in the headers of your message... It may not be what you are looking for at all, as I only skimmed it real quick... SheilaDr. Ian Shillington wrote:
