What do I have against MLM's??????? I'll tell you.

#1. They claim to have some proprietary formula that only they have or that only they can get, and the only way you can get this "magical" formula is through their program. As I've said to many people, many times in the past, I've taken this challenge and have been able to either duplicate or actually purchase the exact same formula. Every time I investigated one of these, not only was I able to either duplicate it or purchase it as-is, the actual formula or program was inferior to what I was already doing. The only exception was an MLM owned by Twin Labs which was selling a very superior, high quality CoEnzymeQ10. By actual research I found the manufacturer of this CoQ10 and was able to purchase the identical product at about 1/5th the cost of the MLM product. This leads me to:

#2. MLM products are very expensive as they need to pay these "awesome" downlines, and keep their money motivated distributors happy. So #1 is really only a sales pitch to justify #2. so that a few, very hard working distributors and of course "Management" get to make a ton of money. And often times the products are actually inferior and sometimes just downright bad. The whole thrust is towards making money and is out exchange. How do I know about such things??? I was in on the ground floor when TradeNet was being set up, and when I discovered some unethical behavior going on, blew the whistle on it. I had even worked out the math to make it an honest program, but the owners weren't interested, preferring to push their Ponzi scheme. Believe me, I've done a very thorough investigation of MLM's and how they work including chats with MLM attorneys on the subject. This is an area I know full well.

#3. Almost invariably, MLM's will push the owner of that particular MLM as being the most altruistic holy man that ever graced the surface of the planet, and place this self styled guru as sitting on the right hand side of God while distributing his proprietary formula in an apparent largess on the rest of mankind. As is usual, the bottom line for these dudes is the BUCK!!! And their largess is, as their proprietary formula, a sham.

#4. Often times, the MLM owners or one or two of the major distributors will use a position in a religious group and their position in the MLM to push the "products" of the MLM using the dogma or rhetoric of the religion or ethnic group. And thusly, we get a TradeNet, or an INMT (International Metals and Trade), or a Reed Slatkin, or an Environmental Building Products using religious or ethnic communication lines to further line their own pockets while promising "Big Bucks" to one and all, taking people for the ride of their lives, and delivering nothing!!!

I have yet to see a truly ethical MLM.

Dear Erin,

OK you can disagree all you want, but I want you to know that I've taken a good hour or more to look over the ONE GROUP site you've supplied below and I can say unequivocally that there are SOME good things about this company, but it is NOT the panacea portrayed.

Your criticisms of Terressentials are not fair nor are they accurate. Let me expound.

Terressentials uses some ingredients that are Wildcrafted or from local or personal sources known only to them. Why? Because their standards are above that of "Certified Organic"!!!!!!!! I also ran into this same problem with my Organic Herbal Remedies. There are Wildcrafted Sources out there that make "Certified Organic" look like commercial. If you have listened to my CD lecture you are aware of the difficulties with SOY and the fact that a Certified Organic SOY Label is virtually useless. Big Agra and Big Pharma have infiltrated the "Certified Organic" and as we speak are doing their best to change standards to the point that in the near future we will have Certified Organic GMO Soy. Count on it.

The ONE Group. Flagship product is: IN-LIVEN which contains: Rolled Oats, Brown Rice, Wheat Grain, Pearled Barley, Linseed = Flax, Kidney Beans, Mung Beans, Adzuki Beans, and Red Lentils among the rest mentioned. The fact that these are Certified Organic is GOOD but not GREAT as no sources of these supposed "superfoods" are mentioned, and they are BAD in that they are NOT SPROUTED / GERMINATED before being processed. This means that each one of these foods I've just listed from their label are Acid Ash producing. You can check the files for what this means and as to why this is detrimental. This indicates to me one of two things. A. They are aware of this factor and are only jumping on and taking advantage of the CERTIFIED ORGANIC bandwagon or, B. They are not aware of this factor and are great with marketing and poor on research. Either way, it is a compromise. I suspect #A as being the case with this company that is producing products that are "slightly" better than average, but are in no way truly superior to what a person can get locally from a true Ethical Source. Going to the side here but making a very pertinent point: Australia will not allow me or any other herbalist to make regular shipments of herbal remedies into the country as the Medicos, the Psychs and Big Pharma have it locked up. Herbal Remedies are frowned upon there. Australia is also Codex Alimentarius compliant which doesn't impress me one iota.

I place "Ethical" to be above all else in this debate. The proof of the puddin' is in the makin's. Do these One Group products do what they say they can do??? Will they actually improve health??? One of the skin cream products mentioned on the ONE site talks about "improving" psoriasis, but offers no success stories for terminatedly getting rid of it. Therefore, ONE Corp does NOT OFFER A WHOLISTIC APPROACH!!! This could be oversite, orrrrrrrrrr it could simply be a bright marketing idea with some successful bandaids as products, without the ETHICS of it all being included.

Terressentials actually uses real Echinacea in many of their skin formulae. They also use other medicinal herbs. I did not see this at the ONE Site which promotes the USDA as being the certifying board to pay attention to. I'll pass on the USDA certification, thank you very much.

Like Terressentials, Organic Solutions and our Herbal Remedies have gone far beyond the "Certified Organic" label which is being corrupted as I write this. Our two companies, and several others like Oregon Tilth have created a standard far above and beyond what is currently accepted as Certified Organic. Unlike the USDA (our current Certified Organic "Big Brother Protector" {said with tongue in cheek}), we have not been infiltrated by Big Pharma, Big Agra and Big Techna. I would take an Oregon Tilth Certification over USDA any day of the week.

You can bet your bottom dollar that the reason I promote, back and otherwise endorse Terressentials is because I use their products on an every day basis (have for years now), and can honestly state that they contribute to getting rid of unwanted conditions while giving you the best in a beauty aid. The only products I've found to date that match theirs are the ones I make myself.

And I never compromise with health. Never!!!

I make no kickback from them and they have never paid me to make such statements.

I do so, because it is the TRUTH!!!

Yours in Knowledge, Health and Freedom,

Doc

PS. Erin, I invite you to try Terressentials or Organic Solutions products.

I can't speak for Terre because I am not connected to them in any business way, but I CAN speak for Organic Solutions, Inc. being the founder of the Company. Try any of our products. If they don't DO what I say they can DO; if you can find ANY product out there that is better; if you don't like the product because you don't like Monday's; I don't care what the reason, if you're not fully satisfied with ANY of my Herbal Remedies, simply return it and I'll give you a full refund - NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!!

PPS. Now see if you can get that kind of guarantee from a Medical Doctor.

PPPS. Best is still to make your own or buy local! There needs to be more of us Natural Healers out there!!!

Re: Herbal Remedies - M L M's

Hi Dr. Shillington,I would like to disagree with you in this one instance. If you take the time to look into the Organic and Natural Enterprise Group (ONE Group)you will be surprised that none of your issues you state here are true. Our products are not over priced. They sell for the same price as a comparableproduct. Which I believe I sent you price comparisons in an earlier email. We are a mission oriented company:http://erinely.mionegroup.com/AboutUs/Onegroup.aspxIf you can show me another product line this extensive that is Certified Organic, I would love to see it.I know about Terressentials, they have nice products but they are not certified organic. There is a difference between having organic ingredients and being certified organic. If you can make your own products like this that are certified organic, I would be interested in those also...because believe me I have looked and there is not another product line like this that is certified organic, a defined, verifiable standard. There are no "holy men" in this company. Just regular people who care about people and the planet. We do not have any give aways, no "free" cars, no "free" trips, we do not have rah rah meetings, we do not do any of this kind of BS that other network marketing companies have. ONE Group is the largest single contributor to the David Suzuki foundation (www.davidsuzuki.org). David Suzuki is a well know and respected Canadian environmentalist. We are not affiliated with any religious groups or organizations. This is the only network marketing company I have ever seen that meets my criteria for truly quality products and values. In Aug 2006, the company became carbon neutral at their manufacturing plant and their offices in Australia. They are purchasing their power from wind and solar to run their plant and their offices in Australia. They are buying carbon off sets for all of their product shipping world wide, through a certified tree planting program. This is updated quarterly as the company grows. The company is small and growing at an organic rate. They are completely debt free and their philosophy about growing is very "organic". All the products are made in house in small hand made batches. You can tell this by the fact that the color of the products vary throughout the year. The products are made with cold pressed oils and botanical ingredients, nothing is heated making the ingredients still live and vital. Each product has an expiration date of 18 months. If you can show me another product line that meets this standard I would really like to see it. I am always looking for good products. Regards,ErinIndependent RepresentativeONE Group
