Hydrotherapy

Hot

Baths & Saunas

Hot

& Cold Therapy

If

I were allowed to teach a student only one system of physical healing which

would accomplish the greatest amount of good for any individual, that system

would be Hydrotherapy. That’s a

heavy statement, but I mean every word of it. This would include Hot and Cold Showers, Hot Baths and Hot

Tubs, Saunas and Steam Baths, and Ice Water Dips.

Why? Because nothing moves blood, lymph, and

other fluids in the body like Hot and Cold. Think about it.

When you run cold water on your arm, you can visibly see the skin turn

white as the blood goes deep and away from the area. Similarly, when you run hot water on that same arm, you

immediately notice the skin turn red as the blood comes flooding back in. This can be impressively dramatic.

Not

only is this getting nourishment and vital nutrients into an ailing area, but

it is also facilitating the removal of toxins and poisons.

Here

is another interesting and fundamental fact having to do with Saunas and Hot

Baths. For every degree the

temperature in the body is raised, the speed of the white blood cells is

doubled. This means, that if a

false fever of 105° is created in a sauna, the speed of the white blood cells

is 128 times faster than normal, and after all, it is the white blood cells

that knock off the bad guys (toxins, bacteria, infections, etc.). This is extremely beneficial. One and all should ask this very

important question, “Why does a body create a fever in the first place?”. Answer: It is a defense mechanism of the body to handle foreign,

destructive entities and toxins.

So, why in the world would someone try to bring a fever down and fight against

this wondrous natural defense of the body. The correct way to handle any cold, flu, or fever is to get

the person into a Hot Bath or Sauna for at least a half an hour. Now before some Medico starts screaming

about brain damage, let me point out immediately that the ONLY time a

person suffers any brain injury from a high fever is when it is accompanied by

dehydration. Drinking 4 to 6 cups

of herbal tea (Ginger or Yarrow are best) made with distilled water, are

essential when doing any Hot and Cold Hydrotherapy.
