Dear HR group,

Sugar is spooky , oh dear , oh my !! Hard to let those caramel

apples pass by !!

Halloween starts the surge of treats which upset the delicate pH

balance of the blood. A SPLURGE of sugar also weakens the immune

system.

Did you know 1 tsp. of sugar suppresses the immune system for 12

hours ?

Here is a tid bit I enjoy sharing, a can of soda has on the average

12 tsps. of sugar!! So when you calculate the math 12x12 = 144 hrs.

your immune system is suppressed.

So often we reach for gingerale, or juice when we don't feel well.

What would be better is a cup of herbal tea, or water with fresh

lemon or lime. Our sweet tooth is a goblin to our health.

Halloween is MY favorite holiday! The kickoff to a season of sweets

and yummy but acid forming foods.A SPOOKY challenge to our health.

Enjoy the spirit of the events to come. Moderate the sweets and

other foods that create acid in the blood, compromise the immune

system, and open the door for colds, flus, headaches and so many

more dis-eases.

Contact me for further information regarding digestive health.

Health goblins BE GONE !!!

Happy Halloween,

Best in Health

Hi Camille.

I like Stevia leaves from the plant.

They make a great herbal tea.

My new favorite that I just tried last week is: diced Ginger Root, Orange Peel, crumbled, dried Stevia leaves and Lemon Grass.

After letting the tea sit and steep for at least 15 minutes, I then strain it before drinking it.

Really, really good. Do not purchase the processed white powder Stevia. It's ucky! You need to find dried leaf either cut or powdered.

I think that honey is as good or better than Stevia. They are very close in my books as Stevia does lots of great things for the body and honey helps allergies and also has anti-biotic properties.

Tomorrow I will post the benefits of Stevia on the Herbal Remedies list and you can decide which one to use.

Maybe you will want to use both as I do.

I think they are both excellent sweeteners!!

What could be used as a alternative to sugar. Something that could be used to sweeten teas and maybe make lemonade?joa6herbs <joa6herbs wrote:

Hi Robin.

Thanks for asking.

I personally don't like refined, white Stevia.

I'd rather stick to the leaf = unprocessed.

I find that the white granules do not dissolve easily in a hot herbal tea and for me it has an after taste (a bit bitter).

This after taste has turned a number of people off of Stevia and I think this is a shame.

It is such a good herb and I just prefer the most natural.

Robin if you like the powder go ahead and use it.

I just don't recommend it because I think the leaf has a much better taste for starters.

In addition, I don't know how they make it white when the actual leaf is green.

As far as the liquid, I notice the same after taste. The process used to make it? Again I don't know.

It may be fine but since it takes research and believing what I'm told, I'd rather just have the leaf.

Does this explain it? Any more questions let me know?

Hi Valorie:

I’ve been using the packets of Stevia and they taste good! Are they not good to use tho? What about using the liquid?
