Guest guest
Wed, 18 Oct 2006 15:19:09 -0400ALL it takes is to inform people on psychiatric screening and you can do that easily with a click or two of your mouse.Screening is not just a part of psychiatry. It encompasses all of psychiatry because it is a sales entrance point.Investigations are still not quite complete but done enough to expose this easily. Are we causing an effect? You be the judge, see here: http://www.psychsearch.net/news.htmlThis is truly a fantastic way for us to make friends fast. This is not a one time deal of "sign it and forget about it". This isan incredible tool to inform, make allies and make some headway!NOBODY likes screening kids except the drug companies, the mental industry and schools who profit.Luckily, there are some sane executives in schools.http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?TScreenPetition signature # 12,787 Pam Stevens I am the Vice President of the Kenosha Unified School Board in KenoshaWisconsin and I am against this. If you can please send me more information [don't worry - she is being provided information. No need to contact her at this point.]Kenosha Unified School District has SIX schools http://www.teenscreen-locations.com/index.htm with TeenScreen and Pam is 2nd in command - verified. There are several hundred MD's that have now signed the petition, and many and various individuals from all sorts of religious, educational, family rights groups, etc. and even psychs who haven't quite got it yet!Singature #12517 Carol L. Gianelo As a Certified Social Worker in the state of Utah with crisis intervention background and a profound knowledge of suicidality in general and teen suicide in particular, I strongly disagree with the espoused tenets of "TeenScreen" and support all actions to stop this misguided attempt that will only create more pain and suffering for individuals and families. The DSM is a guideline for professionals and an unreliable and often invalid diagnostic tool that takes expertise and training to differentiate complex disorders. Further, the DSM IV Manual makes no attempt to identify underlying causes of depression and suicidality specifically. Attempts to interpret testing results are always subjective and prone to observer bias. I would hope that instead of efforts to mass-diagnose, the public would be willing to fund the much more effective prevention of persuading their local governments to fund trained professionals in the schools who can develop personal and in-depth relationship with students. 84108Push, push push: http://www.petitiononline.com/TScreen/petition.htmlYou want Latino?
