Guest guest
Hello, My daughter is 5 years old, since she was about 2 years old, I noticed her nails were rough all over her 10 nails. I've recently became concern since she is now 5 and still continues to have this problem. Does anyone know what it could stem from or would know what I can do to help treat this. Thank you, An-Marie AM Get your email and more, right on the new .com
Guest guest
An-Marie - when you say they are "rough" do you mean they have ridges? If so, usually that is something that goes with eczema or psoriasis. I know only because I have eczema myself. My daughter also has it and her nails have horrible ridges. I usually use a nail buffer to smooth mine. As for what to do about the eczema/psoriasis, I'm not sure. it's usually caused by a toxin in the body, I think, as in an allergy. I notice my daughter's gets worse when she eats a lot of white bread instead of the whole grain. It's always worse when she's in school and eats lunch there. Perhaps a tie with the school lunches? BTW - my daughter is 6. I first noticed the eczema for myself when I was about 11. My mom also has it so I think there's a genetic link. Guest guest
Thanks Michelle, I'm really not sure what the cause could be. I noticed it on her when she was about 2. I did see it earlier, but I just thought it would go away. Recently, they have been very noticable when I was cutting her nails. Yes, they are ridges on all her nails. She is homeschooled. I'm scared to take her to a doctor, because they might do blood work on her again, which she already had blood work done when she had her 5 year annual exam. I haven't heard anything yet, so I beleive she is fine, but something is in her system and I can't pin point it. Could it be lack of vegetables or fruits. She drinks Total Tonic every morning and is eating some vegetables (carrots and peas) lots of with her food. She just started eating apples and is loving it, prior to, she didn't eat any fruits at all. Should I buff her nails, but that doesn't solve her problem. Guest guest
I believe Eczema/psoriasis are directly related to digestion and so are the ridges. She may be getting proper nutrition, but she may not be assimilating. If it were me, I would consider something to aid digestion. I would also eliminate flour, sugar, refined and processed foods. Ginger is good for digestion as is pineapple and papaya seeds as they contain enzymes. Some people choose to take food enzymes. herbal remedies , An-Marie Gameiro <angameiro wrote: > > Thanks Michelle, > > I'm really not sure what the cause could be.
