Guest guest
Doc. I recently bought a few bottles of organic, raw komucha drink. I bought the ones that have greens in the drink. I discovered, after taking 2 big drinks, it tasted like vinegar. That was a shock. Has anyone had kombucha? Is it really good for you? Thanks, Karen in AZ
Guest guest
I have posted about kombucha a couple of times but have not seen my posts go thru. I bought a starter set and grow my own. You can eat the mushroom and drink the juice. It has been very instremental in the treatment of my fibro and CFS. It is my understanding that it also is good for diabetes. Guest guest
I've heard that it is very good for you, but without the personal experience, I can't recommend one way or the other. Guest guest
That's good to know, Marsha. I hate the taste of it. Will it hurt to blend fresh fruit with it to cut the vinegar taste a little? Guest guest
I brew KT (Kombucha Tea). I use it as part of an olive oil, glyconutrients and garlic salad dressing. Yes it does taste a bit vinegary if it has brewed too long. I have some in the fridge that I brewed last winter and it's great (I put ginger in it when it's done brewing and I decant it). My husband drinks it when he goes into a sneezing fit... stops it dead right after the first sip. But it is an acquired taste; I gave some to my bro-in-law and his response (with a HUGE Texan drawl) was "Why'd anyone do that?!?!?!"... he hated it. We'll be drinking more of it now because it truly does help my husband's allergies and after the Monsoon rains there are a lot of blooming plants out there. But that's just him-- I think it acts on each person a bit differently. I just like it – I put lemon and stevia in it and drink it on ice. Do I think it's the best thing since sliced bread? I am on a couple of KT boards and they all think it's life affirming. According to various Internet sites it is and according to some other sites it's 'the devils brew' and BAD for you... but I can't say for sure...I've never really paid that much attention - like I said...I just like it! Wish I could’ve helped more. Sara Karen O'Keefe <keelysgrma wrote: Doc. I recently bought a few bottles of organic, raw komucha drink. I bought the ones that have greens in the drink. Guest guest
Thank you everyone for your comments. I might look into making it myself. It might taste better.
