Guest guest
My son has recently developed a kind of eye tic...he blinks a lot but with his left eye lately basically winks but all the time. I put eye drops in but I don't know if it really helps. Does anyone know if this is normal or how to get rid of this? It's very disturbing to talk to him because it drives you nuts! Guest guest
--- Hi Marci, Sounds like your son has a calcium deficiency! Whenever I go off of my calcium I get a tic around my eye. The more severe the calcium deficiency the greater the tic. I am on a low-carb diet and take a large amount of calcium since the phosphorus in the meat causes me to have charlie horses without upping the calcium, but I would put my son on calcium immediately if I were you. How old is he? (You never said). All of my girls (14-19) take a daily 1200 supplement of calcium. Whenevre I get the tic near my eye, it usually takes at least one week of daily calcium supplements before the tic disappears. It will depend on how old your son is to decide how much to give him. If he is under 10 he wouldn't necessarily need as much as he will if he is in his teens. If he is over 12 (and normal sized, not small), I'd say 1000- 1200 is the proper dose.
