Sound a bit ominous? And it comes from the pressed round black seeds of black mustard. Black mustard has a yellow flower and often an aggressive ditch weed. When gathering up leaves for Spring salads, take just a little of the tender leaves from the mustard plant, they are tart and have a bit of a bite to them. To my point of view, Canola or Rape or Mustard seed is an agri-commodity product --it lends itself well to corporate farming methods.
