Guest guest
OK I don't use alcohol on my stevia. I used vegetable glycerine which I happened to have laying about. Had I not I might have used my 80 proof vodka which is the strongest we can get here. I used the fresh for the tincture, but dried would most probably work just as well. Its just that drying is a means of preserving the herb and stevia keeps for years in its dried state. It does not seem to lose its potency or attract bugs like other herbs. Tincturing the dried herb would just be a waste of alcohol or glycerine for me. I dried as much as my dehydrator would hold and tinctured the rest. Natural drying in the sun or indoors just doesn't work well in this area ( spiders, vermin, mold and mildew) As for the beer bottles - as long as they are sterilized and the corks fit I see no reason why not.
