I was wanting to know what you would recommend for me. I had a L5-S1

herniated disc 11/21/05 had 3 epidurals. In 3/06 experienced more leg

pain and started to decline back to same state after accident. In 5/06

started prolotherapy, had 3 treatments and still no imrovement. Along

with DRX 9000, 25 treatments slight improvement still couldn't

straighten my leg when sitting. I had pain in my sacrum and down my

right leg back of my calf and to my ankle.

I had SED surgery on 9/1/06, he decompressed it and found a synovial

facet cyst where he used the laser and it shrunk until it wasn't

there. After surgery I didn't need Pain killers until a week later

when the leg pain was there and my toe and foot were numb. He placed

me on Lyrica and Percocet. I was also experiencing the same sacral

pain when I try to straighten my leg when I am sitting.

On 9/11/06 I had a sympathetic block to help alleviate some of the

discomfort, against my better judgement.

I can only go to about a 45 degree angle from knee down. I do have leg

pain in the back and also the fromt of my calf as well as both sides

of my ankle. The top of my foot on the big toe side is also painful

all the time.

The doctor wants to wait until 10/20/06 to see my progress and at that

time maybe another MRI if I am not better. He just wants me to

continue taking the medication to " mask it " from what I understand of

it. If my understanding is wrong, please let me know.

I am not interested in taking the painkillers or the Lyrica until then

I would like to do something that actually focuses on the prblem. I

have been taking Milk Thistle, Black Walnut, and Arrnica after surgery.

Btw, I have been eating organic fruits and vegetables since 5/06, raw

as much as I can and organic meats sparingly. I have not had any

caffine intake, nor any sugar since then. I also did the Master

Cleanse for 10 days in 7/06. I drink at least 1 gallon of water a day.

I am at a loss of what to do, I didn't want the surgery and did

everything I thought of to avoid it, I am sure it takes some time to

recover but any help would be greatly appreciated.

I read that the nerve regeneration would be beneficial, as well as

deep tissue repair, and the total nutrition. Would this be the best

thing to do?

Blessings,

Deeply disturbed

I know what you're going through, as I have three protruding disks with damage to the facets due to an injury (from falling off a horse). I had tried everything. The only helpful treatment (for me), although it's not herbal, is epidural (sp?) spinal pain injections. They are not just for the pain...they actually reduce the inflamation. They are done by an orthopedic surgery group, given in a series of three shots, about six weeks apart. This group also gave me a "tens" unit (which I have on right now) which had saved me! I am not taking any pain meds, as they don't work for me and only aggravate the pain. I am also eliminating anything from my life that causes inflammation. Take care.
