So does anyone have any ideas for me? I eat a spinach salad every night (80% spinach 20% romaine)...if I eat a total lettuce salad then I get runny stools-hence the spinach. Since they are recommending that nobody eat spinach from bags what would be a good alternative? They say it could be some time before it's figured out and I do eat organic spinach but I guess that doesn't matter. I'm lost without my spinach salad every night!!!!!!

Dear Marci,

Having a Healthfood Store, I received the same warnings from my supplier, but he could not tell me if this also included the Organic brands.

I researched it further and found it was a commercial brand they were worried about but neglected to tell this fact to the public, so the rest of the market had to suffer from the bad habits of one place in California

Another scare tactic as far as I'm concerned probably designed to put some Spinach Farmer in his place.

Keep to the Organics and you'll do fine.

thanks for letting us know Doc! You can't always believe everything in

the media, so you gotta keep an open mind. At first I heard on the news

they were claiming it was organic spinach! They'll do anything to keep

people from buying organic or going natural.

Yes thanks Doc!!! And of course they'll say organic first because everyone is out to kick that market! I'll stick with all my organics and I think if we all do we'll be just fine--let the FDA and the Govt. say what they want!

At this point, I would not eat any spinach if I were you...unless you've grown it yourself. And Doc, I'm sorry, but I don't think you should be advising anyone that it's safe at this point, even if it is organic.

### DOC: On the news they showed the organic brand: Talk about propaganda! Tony ###

___________________

I've talked to several organic producers along with the produce guys at the organic grocery store. Here in Oregon they pulled all brands of spinach, I received several emails today telling me October 1 it will be available again in large amounts. In the meantime I'm able to get fresh grown organic locally, just be sure to wash it good or it's sort of gritty. LOL I had some of the organic stuff that was being pulled but my hubby and I had eaten it and didn't get sick, I just washed it throughly and drained it just in case. It was fine.

I agree with Doc, and the spinach came

from CA from a large commercial farm. If you stick to your local stuff you will

be fine. And yes, Doc, I believe the USDA is going to try and do to the fruit

and veggie growers what it is trying to do to small livestock farmers. In fact some

of the “pick your own’s” now have to keep track of who comes

on their farm. Name, address, etc.

I agree with you. It does seem strange that so few were infected. I also believe

people probably had a weak immune system as well. We are subjected to so much

Thanks hon.

These things just need to be put into perspective to see the light.

My interest in the whole schlameel, is to find out who is attacking who and what the profit driven agenda is. For all we know, Monsanto could be behind it as they may have a new variety of GMO spinach which is not being received well by the farmers, so the pressure is being applied.

Yes! Big Agra is in bed with Big Pharma, Big Techna, and the Psychs / Medicos.

We really do need to clean up this area of American Society before it goes more to hell than it already has.

This may seem like a broad statement, but the Psychs are the basic link on the chain. I once did a research on Serial Killers (Columbine and the like), and everyone of these Serial Dudes were or had been on Psych lines and / or drugs. When I've been able to do so, I've managed to trace many of these large multinational companies programs back to a Psych influence to the point that some of them hire professional Psychologists on their staff. Kinda scary, but take a deep look at Bin Laden. His main right hand dude is Mr. El Zaw... who is a Psychiatrist. The entire Bosnian debacle was created by a Psych, and if you can get your hands on a book entitled, "The Men behind Hitler" you'll find that the Psychs were the sole cause of his eugenics program and the extermination of over 10 Million Jews, Slavs, and supposedly Mentally inferior people.

The Psychs are the sole cause of decline of the American way of life. The only reason they persist is because Politicians feel that populations need to be forcefully controlled rather than being controlled by logic and true education, and so the psych's heinous agenda is tolerated by the Governments of Earth whose main crime is ignorance and a lack of sane solutions. Sure some politicians are truly evil, but I think that most are just plain ignorant. This needs to change and it is up to us to change it. Over the next little while I'll be posting to the list the latest Psych attack on our children in the form of "Teen Screen". This is pure Psych evil!!!

You can bet your life (literally), that if we don't start raising a real stink about this, our freedoms will just continue to erode until we reach a point where they become non-existant. This is why backing Dr. Rima Laibow's fight against Codex Alimentarius is so vital. Codex comes into full fruition by Dec. 31st 2009. If this does come into full compliance, you can kiss this country and freedom good-bye by 2012.

It is sometimes easier to blame another religion (such as Islam) or label other ethnic groups as being evil since these may not be easy to comprehend from our American point of view, but the true terrorists on this planet are the Psychs. These are the true enemy of FREEDOM.

At this point, I would not eat any spinach if I were you...unless you've grown it yourself. And Doc, I'm sorry, but I don't think you should be advising anyone that it's safe at this point, even if it is organic.

Just my opinion.

Love,

Herbal Remedies - Spinach news

So does anyone have any ideas for me? I eat a spinach salad every night (80% spinach 20% romaine)...if I eat a total lettuce salad then I get runny stools-hence the spinach. Since they are recommending that nobody eat spinach from bags what would be a good alternative? They say it could be some time before it's figured out and I do eat organic spinach but I guess that doesn't matter. I'm lost without my spinach salad every night!!!!!!

You've behaved yourself perfectly in my books. :-)

Of course a misbehavior having to do with Codex or an expose of establishment shenanigans is proper form on this list. LOL

Thanks for the extra data below. Very enlightening and I appreciate you joining the list to give us your input.

All the very best,

RE: Herbal Remedies - Spinach news

Hi, Doc,

I am a Medical Doctor but I think I behave myself pretty well. Of course, the establishment might not agree.

Here's my take on the spinach thing.

The FDA recently approved an untested product consisting of spraying phage, a type of virus which destroys bacteria on lunch and deli meats to prevent the illness caused by Lysteria monocytogenes(http://www.foodnavigator-usa.com/news/ng.asp?n=70066-intralytix-bacteriophages-listeria-fda) (which is said to cause about 425 deaths per year) (http://vm.cfsan.fda.gov/~mow/chap6.html) and is readily treated with conventional means. Striking those with immune compromise, these unwholesome products are best avoided by immune compromised people anyway. The danger of the phage is hard to overestimate, however, and could sicken the entire population, even those who never eat this classification of product since the interaction between the DNA of viruses and bacteria, and then bacteria with each other, finally of foreign DNA with out own DNA reservoir, is completely and totally unknown. Intralytix, the company responsible for the sprayable LMP-102 virus has not responded to my requests for information to find out if the virus is genetically modified but they have stated that they are well on the way to spraying other foods with other phages.

The FDA has already made it quite clear that poultry, too, can be sprayed with viruses and the company has stated that it is looking for other markets:“It is our intent to seek approval for additional food safety products effective against E. coli O157:H7 and Salmonella in the next 12 months." Oh, by the way, the FDA thinks that it is a good idea to allow this viral spraying without labeling it since consumers probably would not want to eat meats sprayed with viruses.

They are right.

There are numerous E. coli outbreaks each year in this country because of poor food hygiene and safety. But the spinach outbreak is garnering special attention. Could it be that the good marketing folks at Intralytix and their helpful and supportive buddies over at the FDA are setting us up for the next big one? "Ooooh, look!" they will coo, "Spinach, even organic spinach, can be contaminated with E. coli. All leafy veggies can, in fact. How about if we just go ahead and fix that problem by letting Intralytix spray all your veggies with phages?" You don't even have to know about it!

That way, no one has to have good sanitation (field workers don't need indoor toilets, do they? Running water? Don't be silly: it raises costs SOOOO much). That way dirty food can be a source of profit. Of course, the dangers are untested, but the FDA feels that any dangers introduced in the consumer's food supply should be sorted out by the courts. So if you get sick from, let's say, unlabeled virus sprays which alter your internal gut flora and change your DNA pool by incorporating foreign DNA which you have no way of digesting into both the bacteria of your gut and the DNA of your cells (which is a documented consequence of eating GM foods, by the way, so we can be pretty sure it will happen with phages). First you have to survive it or be the legal representative of someone who did not. Then you have to prove it. Next you have to document the case and then find a lawyer who will take it. Your next job is to live through the process of grievance litigation. If the deck is not stacked against you so badly that you do win an award, you then have to survive the emotional and financial costs of the appeals which the wealthy company can afford and which you will, at the very least, struggle badly with.

If you eventually win (and you might), what then? Does this sound like either "food safety" or "food security" to you? It sure does not to me. What it sounds like is a great example of corporate shenanigans at the "public be damned" FDA.

OK, Doc, did I behave myself?

Yours in health and freedom,

I agree with Doc, and the spinach came from CA from a large commercial farm. If you stick to your local stuff you will be fine. And yes, Doc, I believe the USDA is going to try and do to the fruit and veggie growers what it is trying to do to small livestock farmers. In fact some of the “pick your own’s” now have to keep track of who comes on their farm. Name, address, etc.
