For me, it was a life change that " cured " me.Body BalanceTotal Nutrition(These two are a " must " in my opinion.)Doc's Hot/Cold shower therapy (maybe he wil be kind enough to elaborate.) Basically, stand in the shower with the water as hot as you can stand it for about 5 minutes and then switch to cold for 1-2 minutes - repeat 2 or 3 times..

Mostly Vegetarian - no meat at all during my menstrual cycleEliminate Dairy - (I might have a sprinkle of cheese every now and then)No CaffieneReduce refined sugar down the the barest minimal. Sugar is sugar, but the natural does not seem to effect me as much.

ExerciseMSMGet proper rest, this is a must. If you can't sleep Chamomile and Lavender make a nice tea - especially with a little spearmint tossed in. The ritual of sitting in a dark room drinking herb tea of any kind was usually enough for me. Also you could try Doc's Nerve and Sedative formula. It tastes vile, but it works. It did not make me sleepy, I just felt " calm " and therefore was able to relax and go to sleep. I love the stuff. Kava Kava and Skullcap are a nice combo too.

5-HTP is good for the depression. Some of this I added later, but I have only had one flare up in almost 4 years, and that was after I'd lost my home in hurricane Katrina. I listen to my body now. If I get a little achy, then I know I'm over-stretching my limits. As far as I'm concerned I'm cured.

A dear friend of mine has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Anytime it would threaten rain/snow or even if it was just damp/humid, she would be unable to get out of bed without severe aches and pains. I suggested that she eliminate gluten from her diet. Three weeks after she had dramatically cut down (not totally eliminated, she stills *treats* herself every 10 days or so) all wheat, she is a new woman! No aches or pains when she wakes up, no overtired feelings, no feeling heavy. She feels well for the first time since her diagnosis and she also feels very light. An added bonus: she lost seven pounds the first week! Samantha

Everyone is raving about the all-new Mail.

I knew that I was leaving something off!I also take Flax oil (I believe UDO's is the same thing) every morning - I have to mix it with the body balance or I will gag.I also take Ginger, but I take it for tinnitus - and didn't even think about including it in my list.

i can vouch for the omega 3s.my mom feels good when she takes hers and terrible when she doesn't. she was officially 'diagnosed' with fibromyalgia a few years ago. there are many other things she could be doing to help herself... light exercise, cutting out caffeine, and eating a cleaner diet... but the 'pharmaceutical grade fish oil' she takes does wonders for her.

tony, what does the ginger do? i'm wondering how i could talk that up with my mom. she really hates swallowing capsules. maybe i can make her drink the tea....thanks,jill

Your friend is lucky to know you. I gave up wheat when I had a sore throat and mouth blisters that would not go away. I was better within three days of stopping my organic wheat cereal. I now have eliminated all grains from my diet and feel much better......they just are too hard for my body to digest. My nails have improved dramatically on a diet of lots of natural magnesium (lots of veges) and fresh salmon . I get so tired of reading about throwing a pill at problems. I can see taking a few things in pill form but many times the natural form is at the grocery store. I do buy organic when ever I can.

How low will we go? Check out Messenger’s low PC-to-Phone call rates.

Fresh ginger at the grocery store is wonderful grated on fresh salmon or simmered and drank as a tea/tonic. I can't see taking something in pill form when you have it available fresh. I eat lots of salmon and haven't tried the omega 3 fish oil pills yet, but if it works, I may try that pill, as I have stopped taking all pain killers and am eating natural anti inflammatory foods and herbs. I feel much better, but it is a hard habit to break. I used to pop an IB every time I ate!

Jill ginger root is the universal herb in Chinese medicine. It is used fresh as well as dried (powder in ginger root capsules) When it is dried , there are some chemical changes and it has more of the anti-inflamatory type compounds. It works well for all auto immune diseases.

Hi Tammi,

I am curious how you take the ginger for tinnitis. My husband has this and he is open to ginger. We can buy raw here and probably in capule form. What is the dosage and how often. How much relief can he expect?

Thanks

Debbie

Dried ginger root has different effects than fresh ginger. Some chinese preparations call for fresh, some for dried. But the dried is recommended for anti-inflamatory conditions.Goodhands <goodhands000 wrote: Fresh ginger at the grocery store is wonderful grated on fresh salmon or simmered and drank as a tea/tonic.
