A body enzyme ( HMG-CoA reductase) is inhibited by a natural product called red yeast rice used in china. It NATURALLY reduces cholesterol without side effects. Because the medicos have to make mega$$$$ on everything they sythesized analogues to red yeast rice which they patent (lipitor, crestor, zocor etc) and they have many side effects (liver damage, muscle wasting etc)
