Guest guest
Hey Doc, I know you've mentioned you've updated the TT recipe. D'you think the file recipe can be updated too?
Guest guest
Doc, when you update could you leave your original formula along with the revision? I don't have any problem getting black walnut hull and I like it. Unless you have some reason why it should no longer be used? Thanks. Guest guest
Thanks for reminding me hon. That's now a "done". ;-) Love, Doc PS. We took out the Black Walnut Hull (shortened the shelf life down to only a couple of months at best, and many preferred taking the BWH separately anyway), and then I added the fresh Tumeric. It works wonders and makes it taste even better while putting the shelf life back up to the two to three year range. The final change I'm looking at is to add Cilantro to the recipe. We currently have a quart of Cilantro and ACV brewing and will leave it sit for a couple of months to check out its effectiveness and longevity. Guest guest
Dear Micki, The update has been done in the Files. The reasons I took the Black Walnut Hull out of the formula are these: 1: The main ingredients in the TT used ACV as the menstruum. ACV did not work with the BWH's and they ruined the recipe. 2: The BWH requires alcohol as a menstruum and works beautifully when used this way with a shelf life of decades, but when I mixed BWH Tincture made with Alcohol in with the rest of the TT made with ACV, it shortened the longevity / shelf life of the whole tincture very dramatically. Normally TT will last a couple of years to a decade in darkened cupboard. Mixing the alcoholic BWH Tincture in with the rest of the ACV ingredients shortened the shelf life down to approximately 2 or 3 months and then it went bad = just rotted. This was not satisfactory for me, so I now recommend when people want the benefits of the BWH, that they take it separately. We recently tested Tumeric in ACV and it works wonderfully well without any shortened shelf life, so that is the latest improvement. We are currently testing Cilantro with the recipe, and if this works I'll consider the Formula to be perfect. LOL ;-) In Health, Freedom, and Love, Doc Doc Shillington727-447-5282Doc - Micki herbal remedies Tuesday, September 12, 2006 4:30 PM Herbal Remedies - Re: Total Tonic Doc, when you update could you leave your original formula along with the revision?
