What's left to eat???

I recently had a blood cell analysis. We saw Candida fungus, parasites and red blood cells clumping. I was told to stop coffee and alcohol, no problem but I was also told to cut out grains, especially wheat and sugar. I already know not to eat dairy or soy. I made some re fried beans and rice and am going to make some lentil soup. Does anyone else eat this way who have food suggestions? Thanks! D.

Hi ...I eat lot of beans and greens and fresh fish. No soy, dairy, alcohol, and no grains at all. I am working on the coffee. Can you have a salad with oraganic lettuce and carrots? I would starve if I could have my salad for lunch. Take care.

Actually this is a great question I have been asking myself, what can we eat, and how do we maintain a healthy meal plan for the entire family on a vegan diet plan?

Can anyone recommend user friendly, simple yet really great vegan books for a family to use.

My favorite vegan cookbooks (tattered from years of use & now my 5 yr

old likes to help make recipes:

 

The Guilt-free Gourmet, by Vicki Griffin, Gina Griffin

Of These Ye May Freely Eat, by JoAnn Rachor (Only $2.95 but great.)

Country Life, from the kitchens of Country Life restaurants

 

Two I just got that look promising:

 

Best Gourmet Recipes, from the chefs of Five Loaves Deli & Bakery, by

Neva Brackett

7 Secrets Cookbook, by Neva & Jim Brackett

 

What's left to eat for a vegan? Find a few good salad dressings.

Green salad with different veggies cut on it every day would be my

lunch choice every day of the week if I could keep fresh greens in

the house! Finely chopped beets & carrots with a tahini dressing on a

plate of greens is a favorite. Sprinkle different nuts amd seeds on

top for variety.

 

There are " loaf " recipes to replace meat dishes. Gravies included. We

don't make those often - prefer raw foods and not so much grain and

nut foods. Find a good " cheese " recipe and you can still top any

veggie dish with goo or make grilled " cheese " sandwiches.

 

We use frozen strawberries blended with a banana and a bit of honey

in place of milk on cereal. Champion juicers make excellent " Ice

Cream " from frozen bananas and strawberries or about whatever flavor

you want. We even make our own popsicles from strawberries whizzed

with water and frozen - so much better for the kidos than the sugary

dyed stuff in the store.

 

Plenty of Meatless Entrees, Soups, Salads, Dressings, Gravies,

Sauces, Fruit & Vegetable dishes & Desserts to chose from that

there's no way you'll be wondering what's left to eat once you start

experimenting. You'll be wondering what to try next!

 

Eat a variety of fruits, vegetables & grains and you'll be getting

good nutrition. Kids, too.
