i tried natural drops and peroxide, if anything it made it worse. Thanks chris>>

I am told that mullein oil is antibiotic and particularly good for this. I have not had occasion to try it. All along the roadsides I see mullein (see google images) blooming now with hundreds of yellow flowers and the "candelbra" shaped stem which will soon turn black and almost cactus looking in the winter. But I am so spoiled that I have not stirred myself to do much with mullein. Usually when I have what I perceive to be an ear irritation, it is a buildup of wax. Then I take out my plastic syringe (like a small plastic and plastic tipped hypodermic) and I run several shots of warm water in that ear --watching carefully for a yellowish or blackish glob to come out of ear and into the sink. It may take several sessions of this ear-syringing but it eventually comes out and I am soon well again. Let me know how yours goes. Looks like you may soon be going down to the Mall Clinic and having them look at ear, likely give you a prescription for antibiotics. God Bless!

My daughter is 7 and has had problems w/ ear infections since she was 3, I've found that garlic and goldenseal drops work really well. In fact to the point that once we took her to the DR and he gave her an antibotic and I didnt have it filled, I used the drops for a week and the infection was gone. The drops are only about $10 for a bottle and it lasts for a really long time.Skofeld wrote: i tried

In our family for ear infections, I use a

mullein/lobelia mix with olive oil.

I buy mine from herb pharm as I haven’t

ventured into making much of my own.

We do eat nearly all whole foods (that I make) but that’s about

where my extent is. I do try to

purchase high quality things though J We

have had great success with that and garlic oil being rubbed just under the ear

on the neck.

I used to treat with antibiotics, but have

found that they go away just as fast, if not faster by just using natural

methods. We treat the pain and then

let the rest ride out.

For children, the best thing to prevent ear infections is osteopathic manipulation. However, since the old style osteopaths have become the EXACT same thing as MDs, you might want to try a chiropratic manipulation or go to certified Cranial Sacral therapist.

thanks melissa. Do you use your own pee, and does it matter what time

of day. What if its yellow from a vitamin, etc. Thanks

Sorry, but that is one remedy that you could not pay me to do. Pee is your body's waste by product. I just don't see how it could benefit the ear. Mullien Oil and Garlic Oil are what have worked for me.Tammi U.

Kinda grosses me out too, but I've heard many old timers who swear by it.

Since I'm very healthy, I don't have to worry about even trying it.

Well since we're getting grossed out here... another old timer told me that if you have new leather shoes and they're too tight, just pee in the shoe and let it dry. When you next put in your foot, the leather is a bit softer. The pee does something to the leather, breaks it down a bit, and it stretches out just perfectly. And, like you said, it's kinda gross but it works.
