This made sense to me so I tried it here in So Cal. Sprinkled it all over my kitchen counters. Immediately the ants began carrying off the grits so I had high hopes. Alas the next day I still had ants and now they are ignoring the stuff, Walking right over it in search of what I don't know. After a week I still had ants. So I guess my kind are either too smart or immune. Today I had to clean up that mess of grits...LOL

Yesterday I received a goodly supply of foodgrade DE a little bit spilled on the counter. Today I have no ants !!!!!! Hooray!!!

Quick grits for ants.

To kill ants: Buy quick grits and sprinkle them in the yard. If the ants are inside, put some in a pile. The ants will find them and carry them back to their nest. The Queen and all the other ants will eat them and as the quick grits draw moisture from the ant the grits expand and explode the ant.

This is natural and works with many ants (not all). We did it here in an office in Clearwater. There were two or three different trails of ants coming to this one pile of instant (quick) GRITS on a desk. Two or three days later we couldn’t find an ant anywhere.

In Marietta, Georgia, there were many fire ants on the school playground by the swings. We sprinkled the quick grits and they were all gone in a day or two.

Herbal Remedies - Re: Cockroaches?

June,

I have not had a problem with ants here in Vegas, but in California they were a problem. At that time I was not to involved in learning about natural ways to rid them. I used Belach, one day my mom had left a banana peel on the kitchen counter & we came home from church & the WHOLE counter was covered. We washed them down the sink & found the entery point & put bleach along the area. It worked beautifully!! somewhere I have a book on natural gardening that may have an answer. I'll look for it & sned you info.

On the TV news they said to fill a glass jar with a big mouth with a cup or two of coffee & the grounds, prop it up against the wall & they will find it & drop in for a drink & drown. It works great!! We got rid of our bug guy by doing this !!

why the hell would you want to kill the ants, anyway?

they're a pretty important part of the ecosystem.

chances are they're after something in your house you

need to take care of, as they don't show up for no

particular reason. watch what they're up to for

awhile instead.
