I was just diagnosed with diastolic dysfunction (heart failure) and wondered if anyone can recommend herbs that may help my symptoms.

Cayenne pepper & hawthorn berries ( as a syrup and/or chewed ). Various alcoholic tinctures for the heart are also available.

If what you were diagnosed with is Congestive Heart Failure, use CoEnzyme Q10. This will work and is one of the current treatments used for CHF in Japan. CoQ 10 is expensive, but is very beneficial. Ask DOC for the dose, because for CHF you need more on the higher end.

Talk is cheap. Use Messenger to make PC-to-Phone calls. Great rates starting at 1¢/min.

I'd also suggest going to Walmart vitamin aisle and buying Hawthorne and also CoQ10. Would suggest the 150mg taken three times a day and with a fish oil capsule. CoQ10 is oil or fat soluble and needs some oil in your gut in order for it to be absorbed. Vit E is also oil soluble and suggest 2 capsules a day taken with the fish oil and CoQ10. Hawthorne is very inexpensive and it is not oil soluble, so that pill can be taken with just some water.

Good Advice.

Also check out the "Heart Formula" in the Files.

This recipe has not only the Hawthorne and the Cayenne, but also has the Cactus Grandiflorus that is excellent for the health.

Plain Hawthorne Berries cooked and made into a syrup is also good.

Do NOT use the vitamins at Walmart under any circumstances!!!!!!!!!!!

They are very inferior, and contain items that are not good for you such as Aspartame. They are also made by Big Pharma industries.

NOW makes a good CoQ10, and so does Standard Vitamins.

Read them thar labels.

I am so glad you recommend NOW brand. I buy their product because they add less adulterants, and were several dollars cheaper than some brands my HFS stock.

Whoaaaa Girl. I don't necessarily recommend all of their stuff. LOL

They have an excellent Vitamin E that IS organic and guaranteed Soy Free.

They also have a super CoQ10 that is also Soy Free and has Hawthorne in it.

But they also carry some of the bad stuff too.

As usual you have to read the labels and the ingredients.

If I was allowed to impart only one piece of advice to any student it would be: "Read the labels and do your own research!!!!!" = "LOOK FOR YOURSELF!!!!"

Wal-mart brand vitamins sometimes contains peanut extract in them as well. I found that out the hard way with my youngest who is very allergic to peanuts. Marsha
