Hi Everyone!

My 16 year old daughter is having panic attacks. It started a bit last Summer

when she had concert tickets and then had to sell them because she felt

sick. It started to arise again about a month ago. She gets panic stricken and

can't eat or anything. Yesterday and last night it got worse (today is the

first day of school here). She said she keeps thinking things such as "what if

she gets sick in school" and so forth and she would get nauseous and and

start sweating.

I was thinking of maybe trying a chammomile tincture or something.

Any help and advise and suggestions are very much appreciated as I don't

know what else to do and it is making me worried.

Thank you very much!

Gina

Rescue Remedy drops seem to help me, and so does St. John's Wort tea. There is also Hyland's Homeopathic Nerve tonic tablets which helps with stress and can be taken during the day while at school.

Highschool is such a difficult time for teenagers. Make sure your daughter is eating good food - I found my attacks mostly happened when I was trying to beat a deadline and had forgotten to eat. Then the attack would begin as not being able to make up my mind about some decision, and just grow. I remember grocery shopping, had a full basket, in the checkout line, and couldn't decide whether to pay by check or credit card. The pros of one and the cons of the other just overwhelmed me and I just panicked and left my full basket in the line while I looked to escape the store. I look back and realize how awful that was, but at the time, it was really very scarry.

Hope this helps, and tell your daughter that if she gets sick in school, to go to the bathroom, go in a stall, take one Nerve Tonic tablet, breathe deeply, slow down, think about something pleasant (like her pet or favorite place), then tell herself, "it's only one day, and she can do it, tomorrow will take care of itself"

Bless her,

Kathi Garrison

What about Kava Kava? I have used it when I am stressed and cant

calm down enough to think straight. I usually take the liquid form

because it works faster. I take a dose then go sit back for a few

minutes. I also use it when I get PMS. It doesn't make you sleepy

either. No side effects like a nerve Med.
