Skin On Shin Is Thin, Slow to Heal

I'm an older man but in good health. My lower legs, more the external that is the shin fleshy area, seems not to get good circulation. I am very careful not to bang or cut my shin or calf, as it takes quite awhile to heal. I often wear shin guard type wraps to cover both the front and back of my lower legs. I would like that skin to be thicker, lusher, and heal more quickly.
