The best thing I know to do is BUY ORGANIC !

I think we still have time to stop this.

CONSUMER IS KING ! LET'S JUST GET RID OF COMMERCIAL ALTOGETHER.

They can't survive unless people buy their crops.

SUPORT THE ORGANIC FARMER !

I'm keeping in communication with Seed Savers - Heirloom Seeds.

You can call them at 563-382-5872 and request a catalog.

They need support in the way of people getting memberships and purchasing their seeds.

They have 18,000 total varieties.

Re[8]: Herbal Remedies - Re: hernia

O that IS sad news indeed, My friend was just certain it would never happen in her country(NZ). What if anything can we do to protect ourselves from this gmo stuff, since it seems to be cross- pollenating with our regular crops ? If thats the case then even our certified organics will be contaminated if not already.

HI ZOE !

OK ABOUT THE BONE SET. I'VE NEVER USED IT.

COMFREY IS SO WONDERFUL THAT I CAN'T IMAGINE ANYTHING BEING AS GOOD OR BETTER.

THE WOMAN WHO IS FIGHTING CODEX HERE IN THE US COURTS, DR. RIMMA LAIBOW, JUST TOLD US LAST WEEK THAT NEW ZEALAND IS COMPLETELY SOLD OUT TO GMO.

SHE JUST RETURNED FROM INDIA AND SOUTH AFRICA. I GOT THE IDEA THAT THESE ARE TWO OF THE FEW COUNTRIES LEFT BUT DOC WILL BE TALKING TO HER IN MORE DETAIL IN THE NEAR FUTURE. I FEEL SORRY FOR OUR FRIENDS WHO JUST BOUGHT A RANCH IN NEW ZEALAND TO GET AWAY FROM EVERYTHING THAT'S GOING ON IN THE US. I THINK THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE PEOPLE DON'T ALWAYS KNOW.

WE CARRY AND SELL A GREAT VIDEO CALLED THE FUTURE OF FOOD. THIS TELLS WHAT IS HAPPENING IN CANADA, MEXICO AND THE US.

GOTTA GO. DO REPOST.

Nope, I didn't see it come through, will dig it up and resend.

Actually boneset is an entirely different plant- have seen pictures, but not the plant. Not sure if it works the same way or not. I don't need it now, but just am curious how it works. It would appear that most countries don't mess with the food supply, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands for sure. When i talk to folks in other countries they are aghast at what ours is doing!!!!

Hi Zoe !

Did your message ever appear?

I tried to send it but have a feeling something happened.

If you have not seen it by now, would you please repost it?

I agree with you completely re your 1st paragraph below.

Comfrey is the best and sounds like you got incredible results. Well done!

Another name for Comfrey is "bone knit" so I'm thinking bone set is simply another name for Comfrey as well.

If your ribs seem to have healed and all is well, I wouldn't think you'd need to do anything more.

Let me know if you find a country that hasn't been tampered with like ours. As far as I can determine, we're looking at South Africa and India.

I'll be getting more information regarding this later this week.

I'm glad that you feel you have found the right list. This one is excellent as lots of "workable" solutions are presented.

Have fun on the list.

Re[4]: Herbal Remedies - Re: hernia

Well thats good to know, being new on the list I just wasn't sure and certainly didn't want to make any waves.

Your attitude is even more assurance that I chose the right list. Yes none of the modalities seems to have ALL the answers, but my first line of defense is first thru diet and nutrition, then herbs and alternative healing which includes chiropractic, accupuncture as well as naturopathy. But for serious injuries ( auto accidents, etc) conventional medicine seems to have the upper hand.

Even so when I broke 3 ribs I treated it with comfrey leaves (fresh) and castor oil - they healed completely in 3 days !!!! so even there we can cross that line quite effectively. Now Im hearing about an herb called boneset, is that possibly better than comfrey? or is it just another alternative? Im growing the comfrey, do I need to try the boneset as well?

BTW I listened to the Free Lecture online yesterday- quite interesting and informative. I can see where even after all these years, I can still improve on my routine. Either that or Im going to move to one of those countries where the food is NOT tampered with like it is here. :(

THANKS ZOE FOR THE CONSIDERATION AND CHECKING WITH ME.

I APPRECIATE THIS AND HAD IT BEEN A DIRECT DISAGREEMENT, I WOULD WANT TO DISCUSS IT OFF LIST.

HOWEVER, I DID PREFACE MY POST WITH THE IDEA THAT SURGERY WAS PROBABLY LIKELY IF NOT IMMINENT.

NOTICE MY WORDING, SEE IF THE BODY WILL REVERSE THE CONDITION. I'M NOT ONE TO SAY GO TO THE DOCTOR OR DO NOT GO TO THE DOCTOR.

THE LIST DOES NOT PROMOTE CONVENTIONAL MEDICINE BUT THERE IS A TIME AND PLACE FOR THIS.

IN THIS CASE, I WILL REDIRECT IT TO THE LIST.

YOU HAVE PERSONAL EXPERIENCE AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT WE WANT ON THE LIST.

MY WORD IS NOT GOSPEL.

IT IS SIMPLY MY OPINION AND VIEWPOINT. I DON'T WANT PEOPLE TO BE AFRAID OF ME.

WHEN PEOPLE GET NASTY AND ARROGANT, THIS IS WHERE THE REJECTED MESSAGES AND BANNING COME INTO PLAY.

This is what our list is all about.

I believe that the individual with the problem knows more about themselves than I could ever ask or find out.

Determination, courage, faith, decisions and the stage of any specific situation in the body all play a very important part in the reversal and healing process.

Re: Herbal Remedies - Re: hernia

While I agree with you in theory about the body healing itself, there are times when it needs a bit of help and a hernia is one of them. I have been creating and using my own medicines for many many years and they are most effective- but when my hernia ruptured (8 yrs ago) and my bowel was clearly sticking out through the opening - I opted for surgery, the one and only surgery I have ever submitted to. I would have been dead in 2 days without it. The general overall health stuff was a great preparation for surgery and certainly enhanced the recovery process - I was back on the job where heavy lifting is required in less than a week and no problems from it since.

I love your group! There is much to learn even for an old hand. Reinforcement of things I already knew is wonderful too. Keep up the good work.

My question was How can we know that the GMO's have not contaminated the otherwise Organic fields? Yes I totally believe in organics even to the point of ordering off the internet when not available in my area. But with all this stuff about the gmo's being on the loose and out of control. How can we possibly protect ourselves from this?

In fact I just had a conversation with a woman at our small local grocery. To my very great pleasure I found a bit of organic produce there today- so said thank you at checkout. Well it turns out SHE is the one responsible for ordering them- they had problems in the past having to throw out a lot because folks wouldn't buy it. But that is changing and she said she will be getting more in. This store is within walking distance of my house so what a great thing this is. At least SOME folks in this country are sane.

Zoe, I understand your concerns and offer a suggestion regarding GMO contamination of organic fields. Our county ( in rural no. california) passed a resolution last year banning all GM seeds from the county. There are a handful of other counties around the country that have done the same, including one adjacent to ours. I realize that those counties located in huge agribusiness areas like the San Joaquin Valley in our state will never do this, but perhaps we can create islands of 'safety' for our organic farms.
