Guest guest
> How do you make shampoo with Castille soap? > > Ana Ana- You can buy liquid Castille soap (olive oil based) at most health food stores. BUT, you don't have to use a liquid soap/shampoo to wash your hair. I use bar soap made with olive oil and rosemary essential oils. Rosemary is a wonderful tonic for the scalp. Wet hair and rub bar over scalp. Wash, rinse, repeat. It works wonderfully. If the water in your area has a lot of minerals, you can rinse any residue from your hair with an apple cider vinegar (ACV) rinse or diluted lemon juice if your hair is a light color. Just a splash in a cup of water then rinse with plain, cool water. Cindy

Guest guest
Thanks for the response I'll try the bar soap; I've tried liquid Castille soap one time but my hair turned very "stiff" if you will and I had to use A LOT of conditioner to get rid of it; I live in Arizona and the water here is really really hard. Do you think using vinegar after every hair wash would not damage it? thx Ana Sukhi Sran <sukhirs wrote: Dear Cindy, Thanks for information sharing. Can you tell us which brand name of Castile Soap you buy from Health Food Store. Guest guest
Ana wrote: Do you think using vinegar after every hair wash would not damage it? I have been using ACV as a conditioner for about four months now (my hair is down to my waist). I love it! My hair is very soft and manageable. It's shiny and it feels light. The only negative aspect I have noticed is that right after I get out of the shower, it gets a little bit tangled, so it takes me a few extra minutes to comb through it (than it would if I were using those chemically-laden conditioners). The water where I live tested right below the highest level of hardness, so it's very hard. ACV also helps to rid the scalp of dryness and flakiness if applied right to the scalp. I use the ACV at 100% strength, only sometimes adding maybe 30% water. there is no difference in effectiveness for me. I put my ACV in a leftover dish detergent bottle and squirt as needed. I also rinse with cool water, not the steaming hot I use for the rest of the shower. Hope this helps, Samantha Get your own web address for just $1.99/1st yr. We'll help. Small Business. Guest guest
I use ACV infused with Rosemary, Stinging Nettles and Sage every time I wash my hair. I get many complements on how soft and shiny it is. I also use a shampoo bar instead of a liquid and like it much better.
