Guest guest
My son has been refusing to eat and not his usual active self. He said his tongue hurt and his belly hurts. So after much coaxing he let me look and it looks like he bit his tongue really bad. It is along the side. I asked him if he bit his tongue and he said yes. Well, now he won't let us see and he will only drink. He asks for food, but takes a bite and leaves the rest. He will drink but even that is much less than normal. My husband called to check in a little bit ago and he said if he isn't any better I better take him to the doctor. I really don't want to do that because then he will start pushing shots and lecturing me. In the end he will probably write a prescription for antibiotics. I have a few ideas, but he isn't letting me see it or will he take anything. If I put something in his drink and he doesn't finish it then its wasted. Any ideas? He usually can tell if I put something in. He is very fussy. He wouldn't even let daddy look in his mouth, so I don't know why daddy thinks he will let a doctor. This is his second day with out eating! He isn't talking much either so I am thinking this really hurts. Thanks for listening. You are the only ones I can discuss these things with. Everyone else says take him to the doctor or hospital. Blessings, Melanie

When ever anyone in my house has a sore throat or a bite on the tongue, cheek, or inside the lip, I make a normal cup of tea and add 2 tbsp Apple cider Vinegar and 2 tbsp honey. This works hot or cold and doesn't taste bad at all. for throat you gargle and then swallow, for mouth or tongue swish the area with the special tea and then swallow. It takes a couple of days but soon feels better and will heal in no time. If he has a problem with the taste add a little more honey. both cider vinegar and honey have antibiotic like properties. Guest guest
Melanie, The only time in my life I have ever bitten my tongue was when I had a seizure while sleeping. It was also along the side of my tongue and made it difficult to eat, drink, or talk. If a seizure was the culprit for your son, then he wouldn't even know why his tongue hurts. I was lucky that I didn't bite it clear through. I only mashed it really bad and had some open sores on it. I used colloidal silver in a sprayer several times a day. It soothed the tongue and kept any infection away. It was about a week before I could talk without sounding garbled and eating without pain. It was very very painful. Anything that was acidic like vinegar or juice was extremely painful to have in my mouth. I used a straw to drink but even movement in swallowing was very painful for a few days. The doctor will probably intimidate your son, being a stranger, and use a tongue suppressor to get his mouth open. You might get some colloidal silver in a spray bottle for him and let him spray his tongue himself to help with the pain. I would then explain the 'doctor routine' to him and ask him if that is what he wants to do. Either way, you will want to find out why he bit his tongue (seizure?) and he will have to keep drinking something. It happens that my grandson bit his tongue too, both top and bottom and it was a deep wound, so Health Links advised he see a doctor. He did not treat it but recommended the following: drink plenty of water after eating, no rough or hot foods, eat soft foods like yogurt, pudding, jello and ice cream for a couple of days. Up until that point, Aiden was in misery but when he heard what the doctor said, he could not wait to get out of there and buy some ice cream! Naturally he spent the next couple of days on a sugar high. Ronalie
