Guest guest
Regarding spiders, whenever I see one I either tell it that outside would have been a better survival choice and kill it with a piece of toilet paper or I put it outside. I think that cleaning in ceiling and floor corners and under and behind furniture is a good thing to do. Also if you have ideal places for webs around the outside of your home - like shrubs along an outside wall - take a broom to the webs and discourage them. If they are undisturbed, they have an ideal breading place and tiny baby spiders will make their way into the house easily if a window is open or there are any cracks, spaces or crevices. I'm sure someone out there must know of a good essential oil to spray as well. If the ants are inside, put some in a pile. The ants will find them and carry them back to their nest. The Queen and all the other ants will eat them and as the quick grits draw moisture from the ant the grits expand and explode the ant. This is natural and works with many ants (not all). We did it here in an office in Clearwater. There were two or three different trails of ants coming to this one pile of instant (quick) GRITS on a desk. Two or three days later we couldn't find an ant anywhere. In Marietta, Georgia, there were many fire ants on the school playground by the swings. We sprinkled the quick grits and they were all gone in a day or two. Valorie - Cindy herbal remedies Tuesday, August 15, 2006 1:08 PM Herbal Remedies - Re: Cockroaches? June, I have not had a problem with ants here in Vegas, but in California they were a problem. At that time I was not to involved in learning about natural ways to rid them. I used Belach, one day my mom had left a banana peel on the kitchen counter & we came home from church & the WHOLE counter was covered. We washed them down the sink & found the entery point & put bleach along the area. It worked beautifully!! somewhere I have a book on natural gardening that may have an answer. I'll look for it & sned you info. Cindy herbal remedies , "June Black" <june1 wrote:>> Hi Cindy> I live in Mesquite. What do you do about ants? On the TV news they said to fill a glass jar with a big mouth with a cup or two of coffee & the grounds, prop it up against the wall & they will find it & drop in for a drink & drown. It works great!!
