Severe menstral cramping

My eldest daughter, Lessa, gets menstral cramps that are equal to what I had giving birth. It makes her throw up and pass out and she has very heavy flow. She's almost 20 and I thought it would have moderated by now.

Last time, she had a continual contraction/cramp that wouldn't let up. I was actually doing lamaze with her but finally thought to give her Lobelia and it finally settled down. I'm trying to get her to use Red Rasperry leaf tea regularly. Also, I'd like a hint on which of Doc's female products would be good for her.

She's wanting to do the cleanses. I'd appreciate any and all recommendations from you folks about which cleanses she should focus on as well as an herbal regimine she needs for hormone balancing.

Thanks,

Monica

She sounds very much like me and my periods. This is caused by a hormonal

imbalence. A cleanse is a good thing, but she has to cut out all hormones from

her foods. Otherwise it will not gwt better.

Hi Monica,

I used to have similar cramps, they went away for a bit, but I think

they are returning. The last time this happened (last week) my SO gave

me 5 oz of fresh wheat grass juice (he has a press/juicer) and they

vanished within 15 minutes and never returned. I don't take pain meds

for anything, so its especially hard. I was lucky the worst of it was

on the weekend and not when I'm trying to work! I look forward to

hearing other suggestions.

I had this problem when I was a teenager; the doctor put me on the

strongest pain prescription and it didn't help much. I fimally

discovered the answer and it was a combination of Calcium and

Magnesium, better with Vitamin D also, with a 1 to 1 ratio of

calcium and magnesium. Take the cal/mag everyday. The other thing

that I added later was an essential fatty acid, taken days before

the period, like evening primrose, borage and black currant

combination (high in gla).

I have also have had this problem since I was a teenager. The doctor

my mother took me to told

me to get pregnant to deal with the cramp issue. My Mom was furious.

This started my total distrust

of Doctors.

I found the cal/mag combination many years later have great success

with it. Although I

consider the cal/mag combination just a bandaid. It doesn't seem to

solve the problem since I still had

the cramps. It just elimates the cramps usually within 20 min.

However, I just started taking Virgin Coconut

Oil every day (2 Tbsp) and this time around

had no cramps at all although my co-workers were telling me that I

looked pale and "grey" looking.

Didn't have the excruiating pain, just didn't feel good.

What is the Essential fatty acid supposed to do for this problem?
