Guest guest
I keep losing this message so forgive me if this is a repeat. My 2 yr old best friend chocolate lab was bit on the chest by a brown recluse spider late last night and by the time I realized she was in trouble it looked like her organs had fallen through her chest. I couldn't find a bite and didn't know what it was so I rushed her to the ER. The doctor was nasty, implying that I had somehow neglected my dog by not bringing her in when she first started to whine? She did, however, have me sign an estimate of $1200 before she'd agree to treat the dog, but made it very clear I was not going to be able to take her home last night. However, the intern who's in charge of the dog has agreed to treat Holly with any natural treatments I wish as long as it's in conjunction with her meds, and when Holly starts showing improvement, she'll back off on her meds. Questions: I was thinking of using lavender oil and basil oil topically to try to stop the skin from continuing to decay. Any other or better suggestions? Question: If I order something on the internet it will most likely take 3-4 days to get here, is that even going to do me any good? Question: A few weeks ago I tried to put together total draw for a snake kit, couldn't find all the ingredients and forgot about it. Feeling like an idiot now, but is there something I can use more immediately to help draw out some of the poisons? Any advice is welcome and needed! Darby Dr Agatha Thrash, MD runs a small hospital callled Uchee Pines in Alabama. She uses charcoal poultices for brown recluse bites. They do have to be changed quite often. Every 2 hours in the beginning and then you can space it out after a couple days. Edith
Guest guest
Tea tree oil!!! the real essential oil you can get it at most health food stores. Yes - you need attention to the bite NOW. If you email me privately, I will try to find some pictures of what happens if you don't and how tea tree has helped others. I've been told that tea tree essential oil was the original "snake oil" until greedy people began to sell an adulterated product.
