Hi Doc,

I have a 20yo TB who all through summer had what I supposed was Uveitis.

This is supposedly caused by bacteria in dam water caused by duck or

rat faeces. I could accept that in summer, but it's winter here now

and hard for me to imagine bacteria in a dam. I had 2 other horses

with Uveitis last year diagnosed by a Vet.

However yesterday morning his eye was very sore again (first time in 4

months)he could barely open his eye and it was weeping. He had slight

opaqueness in this eye from the 1st episode. It's also effected by UV

light and it has been sunny for a few days. It is only in one eye. WHY

?? The other horses had it in one eye also.

I treated it with a mix that helped, but I think this needs something

more. I do not use pharmaceuticals, so I don't want to call the Vet.

The mix I made was Silver Solution (Ionic Silver, what's the

difference ? IS it better ?) Eyebright Tincture, a few drops of MSM

10% solution,

Miracle 11 Neutraliser, a couple of drops of Homeopathic Arnica.

Last night I bathed his eye and it looked much better after a couple

of hours of dark, but this morning back to square one, sore, eye

closed and weeping. I had a mask on him all through summer to stop the

UV light, but don't want to do it in winter, it's dark enough already !

I would appreciate any suggestions or remedies from anyone as it is so

hard to see him suffer.

Dear Lee,

I've not done a lot of work with horses, but my experience with my Dog and Cat has been, "that which works for humans will also work with animals". It is simply a question of dosages. With a larger animal such as a horse, I'd think you'd need many more times the human dosage for any internal application.

Get some Echinacea and some Garlic in him if you can.

Love,

Doc
