Guest guest
It taste a lot like coffee, but it says it's all herbal and you brew it just like regular coffee!!! The ingredients are as follows: Roasted Carob, Barley, Chicory root, Almonds, Figs, Dates, and natural coffee flavor not sure about the latter. What I bought came in a 8.5 Oz. can for $7.99. On the can it states in large letters "JAVA" - "Caffeine-Free Herbal Coffee" on the back it says "Teeccino - is the first herbal coffee blended from herbs, grains, fruits and nuts that are roasted, ground and brewed just like coffee" Teeccino contains 65mg. of potassium to give your body a natural energy lift. Teeccino is rich in Inulin, a soluble fiber that enhances digestion and promotes regularity by increasing the quantity of beneficial digestive flora in the intestines and colon. Teeccino helps to restore the bodies natural alkaline balance which can be disturbed by regular coffee." Their web site is www.teeccino.com They also list a phone number 1-800-498-3434. I hope all this is helpful. One last thing is I also use a Celestial Seasonings Tea as a caffeine free coffee substitute called "Roastaroma" It also has roasted barley, roasted Chicory,, roasted Carob but has cinnamon, allspice and Chinese star Anise in it also. This is a quick one cup coffee substitute that taste really good!! Guest guest
Hiya Doc, No I guess the flavor I have been using is not certified organic but they do offer 3 other brands that are, I found this on their site: "Are the ingredients in Teeccino organic?"Teeccino now offers 3 certified organic flavors in the Maya Herbal Coffee line. Due to limited supply of certified organic ingredients, the Classic Herbal Coffees line is still not certified. However, ingredients like carob, harvested from indigenous Mediterranean trees that are not sprayed, fertilized, or in anyway treated, are termed “organic by default”. They may not be certified, but they are organically grown. We are working to develop more sources for ingredients that have been certified organic on the National Organic Program (NOP). Our hope is that in 2007, we will be able to buy certified organic ingredients for Teeccino’s primary ingredients, carob, barley and chicory. to read more about our Maya Herbal Coffee line. "Does Teeccino have an acidic or alkaline effect in the body?"Teeccino has an alkaline effect on the system due to several reasons. First, its high content of potassium, an alkaline mineral, helps neutralize acidity and restore an alkaline balance. Second, most of the ingredients in Teeccino like the chicory, almonds, dates and figs are all alkaline. Third, by roasting the ingredients in Teeccino, especially the barley that is an acidic grain, the carbohydrates become more easily digestible and thus less acidifying. Drinking Teeccino helps you reduce acidity in your body in two ways. First, it provides the alkaline mineral, potassium, which your body uses to balance the acidity in your diet. Second, the inulin from the chicory in Teeccino supports a population of beneficial microflora that enhances your digestion and increases the bio-availability of minerals. Thus Teeccino gives you a better ability to absorb your alkaline minerals like calcium, potassium, magnesium, cobalt, and copper that a healthy person needs to maintain the body’s natural alkaline balance. Guest guest
Dear Mustang, OK! Many thanks for the information. Appreciate the input. Love, Doc Doc Shillington727-447-5282Doc - Mustang herbal remedies Tuesday, July 25, 2006 11:26 PM Re: Herbal Remedies - Coffee Alternative Hiya Doc, No I guess the flavor I have been using is not certified organic but they do offer 3 other brands that are, I found this on their site: "Are the ingredients in Teeccino organic?"Teeccino now offers 3 certified organic flavors in the Maya Herbal Coffee line.
