Guest guest
Hello everyone, I've been on this list for a long time but I'm not sure if I ever posted. I totally enjoy this list. And i am hoping yall may be able to help me out a bit. i suffer from hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). An auto immune disease that is very rare. Though more suffer from it than known. I have had it for almost 17 years and I am only 27 years old. This disease is very hard to explain as most auto immune(AI) disorders. But in contrary to most AI sicknesses HS causes me to have twice the immune system of a normal person. Thsu my body attacks not only the bad stuff but the good too. For some background on HS goto http://www.hs- usa.org/ Since I have hit stage of the disease I have gained 70 lbs and felt extremly bad everywhere else. My Hair is thinning and falls out in clumps, my legs are swelling and generally pain is a part of life alot for me, especially when the sores break out. I'll admit I do not eat a great diet but it's better than 75% of the rest of america. My questions are: What works herbally for HS? Does anyone know? Weight aggrivates HS how can I take off the weight because excercise is not always an option because of pain. I'd appreciate any help you can give me to get my body back in balance. This is only a small fraction of what involves the whole picture. I am willing to give more info if needed. Thanks in advance. = Tabitha - mudpony
Guest guest
Tabitha, ALL autoimmune diseases share a commonality. They are treatable/curable with natural remedies. Please try the following (unless Doc responds and says to the contrarery) 1) 1st of all, DO NOT TAKE prednisone or any other steroids. If you are on them, cut down your dosage slowly over a 4-5 day period and stop. 2) (This is important) Absolutely no dairy products. (Milk, cheese, ice cream, yogurt, chocolate etc). 3) If possible, try to walk every day (and build up your time). 4) Take the following: Aloe Vera gel (follow dosage on the bottle), 200 IU Vitamin E, Ginger root capsules (3 times a day), Tumeric capsules (follow dosage on the bottle) and a flax seed oil capsule (2 a day). Give it a good 4-6 weeks. You might want to try some type of cleanse also if you feel up to it. How low will we go? Check out Messenger’s low PC-to-Phone call rates. Guest guest
I have a question about the ginger. Isn't is stimulating to the immune system? I thought that it was and therefore you should not use a stimulant for those with AI diseases. I wonder also about garlic the same way. I have found with two of my family members (dad and son)that have AI that if they do not take the garlic or ginger that they don't have any side effects. My example of this would be with meals that we enjoy; they eat it with the garlic and/or ginger they get headaches, feel " weird " inside. My dad vomits when he eats garlic. He gets a tremendous headache. We fix the same meal without the garlic and/or ginger and they are fine. My 15 y/o gets to feeling pretty yucky if he takes ginger. Is it something else then that is going on here? Thanks, Teresa herbal remedies , tony vergilatis <greekamerican1961 wrote: > > Tabitha, ALL autoimmune diseases share a commonality. Guest guest
Very interesting! I will try these thinsg you suggest. i do not take steriods, been there done that with this HS and it is very uneffective. I'm not much on dairy anyway but what i do consume I will cut out. I do have a question about the ginger though. the type of AI disorder I have makes my immune system higher than normal my WBC counts always run way high anyway. To my understanding this is how it works... though much is unknown and not proven in western medicine (though they havnt helped me much anyway) It starts in the brain, in the hypothalamus. The neurotransmitter that secretes the tumor necrosis factor (TNF)- also the same NT that secretes cortisol- is produced way too much. The TNF factor regultes tumor growth in the body... I basically have 2 to 3 times teh normal amount. Thus making my own immune system attack not only everything bad but the good too. It shows itself on the trunk of the body in the sweat glands a cysts and boil-liek sores that can be as big as softballs at times, usually about quarter to 1/2 dollara size sores that link to each other through sinus tracks. What is shown on the outside is only 10% of what is actually inside. So you can see how this can be bad to say the least... putting aside pain for a moment. If I take the ginger will it accelerate the reaction I get from an already raised immune system?
Guest guest
Dear Teresa, This is a common misconception put out by the main line Medico faction, and may be true when it comes to pharmaceuticals, but most emphatically is not when it comes to herbals. The problem is one of Reverse Vectors as discussed not to long ago on another thread. The solution for one of these AI disorders is to start off with very minute quantities, with let's say Echinacea. Where the Medicos will swear that this should not be given, is a bad reaction, and will exacerbate the condition, reality shows us that starting off on a small gradient will eventually bring about a complete eradication of the entire problem. Sometimes the body can't have what it needs the most. It is totally out of communication with itself and the organs are fighting one another rather than working in harmony. The solution is "gradients".
