Guest guest
Been awhile since I've posted. Both my boys have bowel problems- younger boy, 7 yo, is constipated in spite of a healthy diet. Could drink more water, though. He had a brain hemorrhage as an infant and has hydrocephalus which is mostly non-symptomatic. I think his intestinal issues are related to that, though. He will go almost a week without a bowel movement, then have a huge one. He also wears pull ups at night and has some wetting issues during the day. My older son is 9 and has been diagnosed with encopresis, which I am not sure about. He will have several movements during the day, but will also have accidents in his pants. During times of stress it has happened in school, which is very difficult for a 3rd grade child. The dr has recently prescribed miralax, which she said he should be on for many months. These are very troubling problems. I try to be supportive and not get upset, but it seems as though I am handling more " poop issues " than when my kids were infants. Anyone have any help or insights into these issues? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Laura
