Guest guest
Hey Rik, You can do a Google search on it to get all the low down, but in essence, Soy stimulates production of Estrogen which when ingested in enough quantity in either men or women can throw the sexual hormones out of whack. Some men I know of who are "were" big Soy drinkers (and eaters) actually have well formed breasts showing a very feminine appearance. When this kind of hormonal imbalance occurs, there is a tendency to throw the rest of the endocrine system for a loop since each gland has the capability to cover for another if that one is not functioning correctly. In my investigations into WEIGHT GAIN, I have found the above to be a paramount factor. Such things like Soy, Coffee, Chocolate and Processed Sugar all have the ability to dramatically debilitate one gland or another causing the rest to make efforts to compensate. All DRUGS have this glandular debilitating capability as well. Even over the counter drugs like Aspirin fall into this category. Sooooo things like Soy, Coffee, Black or other caffeinated Teas, Chocolate, Processed Sugar, White Processed Flour, Pharmaceutical Drugs, Psychiatric Drugs, and Street Drugs, all have the capability of "TRIGGERING" WEIGHT GAIN. One of the main reasons this tends to get overlooked or not noticed at all is because an over abundance of some of these will bring about some of the skinniest people you've ever seen. A weird dichotomy!!! This can be seen in the guy who drinks 20 pots of coffee a day and who is as skinny as a rail, or the alcoholic (another example of drug addiction) who is so thin you can almost see through him. These people may be skinny, but they are almost dead. Hope this helps Amigo. In Health, Freedom, and Love, Doc PS. Go back to your Rice Milk or better yet, use Organic, Sprouted Almond Milk. Guest guest
The subject of soy is something that bring up debate every time!! It is dificult to wade through the mountains of reserach done of soy, or soy vs dairy It comes down to this - Depends on the indivudal research and cases when it comes to clinical knowledge and studies (looking at the weight of evidence through internal and external validity) and well as looking at epidemiological evidence. There are countries out there that use soy as a staple in their diet, yet men arent growing breats or getting prostate cancer as a direct result of it in those countries, etc etc - However, who is to say that their genetics do not compenstae for it, and that others may nt react the same? Maybe soy is more modulating, as seen with it as a phyto-oestrogen? Much more research is needed to determine this. It is a sticky area for health practitionrs, as the evidence is very conflicting at all sides - and especially sticky as often you are dealing with patients with breast cancer asking for the opinion - I have my ideas, but thats oinly my idea from the reserach and any validation I have acumulated. How is relates to individual cases, no one can determine.I never give an opinion on subjects such as this and other such as innoculations - I give the evidence both ways and let people decide for themselves. Guest guest
Well you are right in that if you dont know, you shouldnt speak " for or against " . Soy is bad news period, in my geographical region of the world. I can say that definately as an ex-employee of Pharmacia, the company that owned, and spun-off Monsanto. It is not worth taking the risk now to learn later that your body can not handle the mess it makes. blessings.. spot herbal remedies , " Hania Trzaskowski " <chironmedicine wrote: > > The subject of soy is something that bring up debate every time!! Guest guest
I agree with you, but I have seen many studies showing great differneces in commercially produced soy milk, as opposed to home made or small prodction line soy milks. The differences in production/type of equiptment used (such as the aluminium vat soys)/ where the soy beans are sourced from, GM beans, etc - this makes a huge difference. The quality and amounts of phyto-oestrogens will even vary in beans from country to country. You can use the same argument for many products, including dairy ( especially when it comes to the research between the cows that produce A1 vs A2 proteins, i.e. freesias vs jersey gold) - where home made products and commercial high turnover products will differ in effect. Every situation is very individual, just we we all are. I dont touch about half the soy products made here in australia, and wouldnt touch most of the soy products made in the US. I have found differnet people handle different foods diiferently, acording to their individual constitution - perfect examples are meat or wheat. I have had patients who can try every natural way to keep their iron levels up, but simply, their body's cant survive properly without meat, even after cutting out tannins, only iron rich foods, b12, blood building herbs, supplements, the works. And some people, cant deal with it whatso ever - whether its genetics, digestive functioning thats poor, or for whatever reason, cannot have it. Then there are the arguments abotu what meat is okay. And I know, there's a lots of really bad commercial meats out there. Thats not to say that its all bad. Same applies to soy. If all soy was that bad, we would have no people left in areas like japan and indonesia. Choice is a key word here.
