Guest guest
My baby girl is only 1 month old she suffer's with pain and straining when trying to have a bowl movement, she is only having a bowel movement once every day or two.. the doctor call's it Tenesmus. She is on Enfamile Lipil and has been on Gentelease formula's which didn't make a difference in her pain.. I am looking for help in finding a natural way to help her to be healed from this pain she suffers. I've read about Dr. Schulze's Intestinal Formula #3 and have bought some a few days ago but am not sure if I should use this on my baby. Has anyone here every used this Formula on their baby and did it work? I don't want to cause her any more pain.. I am praying someone knows something about this Tenesmus and can help me to find a way to put a stop to her pain.. Help please! Guest guest
Eibhlin Tenesmus is the constant feeling of the need to empty the bowel, accompanied by pain, cramping, and involuntary straining efforts. Tenesmus is generally associated with inflammatory diseases of the bowel, which may be caused by an infection or by other conditions. Tenesmus is characterized by a sensation of needing to pass stool, accompanied by pain, cramping, and straining. Despite straining, little stool is passed. It really is very difficult as a parent when our children are in pain. Tenesmus seems an odd diagnosis for a newborn, did the Dr give any indication as to why he believed it is tenesmus! is your baby breast feed if she is then it's not unusual for babies to go for a number of days with out a bowel motion. Babies can be unsettled for many reasons & sometime we really don't know why. We have 11 children & I have found the use of homeopathic remedies most helpful with unsettled babies. when baby is crying with stomach/ wind/ colic pain I would try arsinicum albicans, for general unsettledness camonmillia & aconite are good. Camomile tea is also helpful just make a tea and let cool then give it to baby in a bottle or one a spoon which ever way you can get it down. Our 10th screamed 24 hour/day & we found that rotating the above remedies really helped our little man. It's really important that you try and stay calm I know it's easier said then done but babies pick up on stress in their mothers the more uptight you are the more uptight she will be. hope this is of some help. Guest guest
Hope Im not being intrusive or rude, but is there some reason that you've not chosen to breastfeed? Breastfeeding has much more digestible nutrition and is perfectly formulated for your baby. If you think you would like to try it consult La Leche League Intl. If you are only a month from her birth it is more than possible to start. Herbs such as blessed thistle (especially) and raspberry leaf tea will help you with milk production. You might want to research this product if you choose not to breastfeed http://zhealthinfo.com/kid_e_reg.html it is a glycerine based childrens regularity suppliment. If at all possible (which it is, physically speaking) I would encourage you to try breastfeeding. The bond with your baby, as well as the nutritional aspects, immunity aspects etc. are worth far more (and a LOT cheaper too!) than formula. Make the choice to give your baby what she really needs- perfect food from you! HTH --Jamie
Guest guest
I did chose to breast feed but I could not do it due to medical reason.. I would have been delighted to do so.. I totally agree that it would have been the beast for my baby. Guest guest
Absolutely!!! Use the Schule's formula on your baby. Just follow the instructions on the bottle and start off slowly. I've used a similar formula on a 15 day old.
