Guest guest
Hello Anne, and anyone who can give me their opinions on this next little bit of info/inquiry... ) Oddly enough, I am debating going to the full 21 days now. I have lost a significant amount of weight (Which wasn't even why I did this), and I do not want a cigarette (Being near one made me ill the other night) OR bad foods anymore... so I have achieved many good things. But the bad side: I seem to have hit a phase where my body is aching really bad, especially in the back and shoulders, and even the Kidney that I was hoping to heal through this cleanse. It's been days now... I am really concerned especially about these pains. The awesome energy is wilting, and I feel like I am beginning to need other things. I am not craving the bad foods anymore, rather I am craving salads, salads and more salads. Avocado, hummus (I eat it plain, no pita or anything) and greens! As of yesterday, I started taking some of my daily supplements again (Fish Oil, a parsley blend to assist the hurting kidney, and a whole food vitamin & mineral supplement) even though Burroughs, says to NOT take supplements during the fast. But I was just feeling like my body was missing something. That is my inquiry. Just thought I would see what everyone thinks about these pains, and what everyone might think I should do about it. I have been stretching and working out (mildly) through the cleanse too, hoping that would help with the aches and pains, but they seem to have only grown worse. As for your question about my breaking the fast, Anne, I have a good planned out 4 days of " Breaking " . The first day will mostly be fresh juiced oranges, day two will be more OJ, possibly grapes and apples too, maybe even blended with a banana here and there... and I'll also be making some of Doc's delicious Potassium Broth to incorporate too. Day three and four, I'll actually start EATING again... Lots of fruits and Salads. Depending on how I feel by then I may also add in some rice, beans, or at least some light hommus. And everything after that will be as close to a vegetarian diet as I can! Fortunately, it is summer, and naturally I crave all healthy foods in the summer anyway. Bean salads, green salads, fruit salads... LOL! Anything salad! Well... thats all for now! Thanks to everyone for all your support Love and Blessings, ~Raaven ---
Guest guest
Dear Raaven, Firstly, I've been very inspired in reading your journey. Thank you for sharing it! I suspect your pains are plain ol' detox. Do some reading on it to put your mind at ease. Your body is doing some major housecleaning, and the process isn't terribly fun. Keep telling yourself that you'd rather have it out than in. -Raine E J Lanier wrote: <snip> That is my inquiry. Guest guest
Thank you, Raine I suspect, to some extent, that you are correct! So I have decided to continue the cleanse, but add in a variety of juices, and probably the Potassium Broth as well. All this comes from the 5 day Kidney cleanse I found through this Group, too... so all around, it eases my mind, because I do not feel like I am quitting, rather I feel like I am listening to my body AND simply taking the next cleansing step ) The Kidney cleanse! This will take me right to my targeted 21 days. In no way am I giving up though! I know it has NOT been easy (Every few days there's a whole new set of " symptoms " ) but when it's all said and done I know I will be thankful I stuck with it. The proof of that already exists! I still cannot stress enough how amazed I am that I am now disgusted with, and even sickened by cigarettes, when only a few weeks ago I was a smoker for almost 2 decades and never thought I'd find a way to quit!!! That alone is enough to make a believer out of me ) Thank you again, for all your encouragement and guidance through it all... I am very thankful!!!
