My little guy had a small scratch on his finger, just below the nail that has become very infected. It is now blistered down toward the fist knuckly and very swollen. We have tried soaking in Epsom salt hot water and also in CS but have seen no change yet. I t seems to be very sore as he does not want to let me near it. If anyone has any suggestions for drawing out the infection I would so appreciate it. Also, I have some Bentonite (sp?) clay for detoxing foot baths, any thoughts on if this might help? Put raw honey on a bandage and wrap his finger with it and use ordenary salt to soak it. I have used the raw honey on a rusty nail wound with great results. Guest guest Posted June 20, 2006 Report Share Posted June 20, 2006 Dr. Christopher used Plantain (ribwort) to draw out infections and blood poisoning. These are found in your yard as a "common weed". Little ones often tend to get right back into dirty things even if we can get to cleaning out a wound, so I don't know if he likes baths or not, but we used to play in our baths until the water was freezing! Could be a way of tricking him into soaking it without even realizing... Throw some epsom salts and such in there and just make it seem fun to him... Just an idea! Guest guest Posted June 22, 2006 Report Share Posted June 22, 2006 Hello: I read this a few months ago...Take a cup of Plain Yogurt and have the child soak his finger right in the yogurt; do not rinse; I would suspect a small bacterial infection under the skin and nail; in this case: also soak the hand in warm water and/or Hydrogen Peroxide. Keep his hand clean and dry and use a mild moisturizer. A. ps did you say the child has " blood in his stools " ?
