Guest guest
Hi Trinia: Yeah I thought also that Vitamin D was not present naturally in Milk which was why they add it...we know it is because the Pasteurization destroys so many Vitamins Minerals and Amino's they have to fortify. This is the same concept of stripping brown rice from it's nutriemts by " polishing " the rice and then spraying on synthetic Vitamin's! So maybe they add too much Vitamin D...go figure! Like you say it is just best to drink the Raw Milk and get the Vitamin D natually; IF you are not adverse to drinking Cow's Milk; which I am not. I will say though that some of the messages give me pause for thought; but NOT that Cow's Milk is bad for me...but because What right to I have to " rob the Calf of it's milk " ...this is bothersome...maybe as I grow older I need Cow's Milk less and either Soy-Milk and or Nut-Milks and Butters more. I recommend Milk for kids. I am an ovo-lacto (I drink milk;eat eggs) purely for Ethical reasons. A ps how do most people about eating eggs...I have to eat something! I know Eggs are high in Protein; Vit. A; Biotin AND Vitamin D. This is Fact: Wholesome Chicken Eggs DO cotain Vitamin D " natually " . I can buy the free-range chicken-eggs organic...Cool! Phew! Hot out! from Anna in Conn. age 55 *Ovo-Lacto Vegetarian since 1970... After doing research on it though I found that in some cases the levels of Vit. D present are toxic. Of course, this was for pasteurized milk, not raw. I agree that if you do drink milk it is only useful if it is raw. Visit the websites I posted for B12 and other milk info.
