How much money raised for cancer............

As I was driving out of Dallas last week, tuned into our local ABC

affiliated AM news station, WBAP, I listened as the host interviewed a woman

who

was promoting another “race for the cure†breast cancer foot race in

Dallas. She paused when asked how much money had been raised. Then she astutely

stated that money was out of her department….but what an amazing question! I

wondered if the host would be fired for asking such a brilliant question.

 

The correct answer - Over one billion dollars has been raised and most of

it has been donated to pharmaceutical companies in the past 27 years. The

result? Well, let’s just say that the status quo has been maintained and

salaries are covered. And yet I was not angered by this interview at all. This

same ignorance of “the cause†is pervasive in medical science today.

Truly, you and I have discovered the most relevant scientific information on

the disease causing process in centuries. It’s no wonder they don’t believe

us. If I wasn’t me, I wouldn’t believe it either!
