Hello Everyone,

I have a question about yogic breathing techniques. I've been practicing some

yogic breathing that entails a warmup consisting of

3 rounds of ujjayi (10 breaths each round) 3 rounds of Bhastrika, and 3 long OM,

followed by 3 rounds of some long breaths, medium breaths, and short breaths, in

the basic style of khapalbhati (sp?).

I noticed sometimes when I do the breathing, generally the week before my

menstrual cycle, I have experienced abdominal cramps. Now I had some very bad

cramps recently and ended up in the emergency room drenched in sweat with a 93

deg temp (they checked it with 3 different instruments) and SEVERE CRAMPING on

my period (typically it happens on 2nd or 3rd day of period but doesn't happen

evern time it seems to be happening more often lately). AT ANY RATE.

I found out I have probably adenoymysis.

I also have learned of the ENDO diet and am staying fairly close to that and

hoping I'll have lukc with that since I Do NOTICE that when I eat certain foods,

then afterward I experience a brief spell of Cramping abdominall(this is NOT a

digetsive cramping it is LOW in the center of the belly and is the sAME as

menstrual cramping.

My QUESTION IS THIS: DOES ANYONE KNOW IS IT SAFE FOR ME TO DO THE YOGIC

BREATHING INCLUDING THE RAPID BREATHS? it seems like maybe the rapid pumping of

teh abdomen could be a problem but somebody else supposedly an instructor of

the method advised me to continue with the practice. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA

IF THIS TYPE OF BREATHING (khapalbati style) breathing is ADVISED during

menstraul cramping? I did see one website REcommended it for menstrual cramp

relief however My experience has been sometimes it seems to bring ON the cramps.

I'd sure like to have a clear answer. I'd conintue with it if i knew it is

helping but feel very unsure since 9it seem also t TRIGGER cramping to me.

If anyone has any insight into this matter I'd appreciate your feedback.

Thanks,

Chanda
