Guest guest
From a Friend: My 9 yr old daughter has been suffering from occasional abdominal pains and nausea for 2 months now. We are doing all the tests to exclude bacterial infections, gluten allergy and normal hormonal development The symptoms are not desperate but recurrent: abdominal pain around the navel area (whether she's eaten or not) usually accompanied by nausea. This group is always so helpful. This friend has had her daughter tested as indicated. Any suggestions as to where she should look, the possibilities of what is wrong? Last year another friend had a constant sore throat and someone on this list accurately suggested an ENT as it might be acid reflux...and this was exactly what the problem was. So, I am coming to this group again for another such suggestion...gratefully, Lynn
Guest guest
Sometimes these can be the symptoms of a special kind of migraine that some children get that initiates from the gastrointestinal tract. They don't get the normal " headache " symptoms that we think of with migraines. If no other source for the symptoms is found, you may want to seek a consult with a Pediatric Neurologist.
