The Hazards of Sugar

Excellent series of videos!   I am recommending these to everyone.

In the video series, there is a lot of talk about fructose.

What is important to remember is that sugar is sucrose, which is

*half* fructose.   So not only is high fructose corn syrup toxic, so

is sugar.

In part 4, Lustig talks about a book I would like to read.

Pure, white and deadly. by John Yudkin Published in 1988, Penguin

(London, New York).   I can find the book online, but I would need a

credit card to read it (which I do not have).  D/L is free for a

single day, so if any of you D/L the book, I'd appreciate getting a

copy.

Part 6 talks about the dangers of alcohol, and also about

sucrose and gout.

Part 7 talks about gatorade and other " sports " drinks which

cause fatty live problems, just like alcohol.

Part 8 mentions the paleolithic diet in conjunction with

eating raw fruits and veggies along with a very high fiber diet get

rid of all the health problems caused by drinking fruit juices and

high fructose corn syrup.

In part 9 he speaks of fructose being " ethanol without the

buzz. "   A can of soda has the exact same negative health impact on

the body as a can of beer.  And that negative impact of soda includes

the same negative toxicity as beer.   Would you allow a child to drink

beer every day?

Diabetes is not the only concern with sugar consumption.

People can have perfectly normal blood glucose measurements and still

beharming themselves greatly because of sugar intake.
