Guest guest
Forwarding................. In the November 23 issue of New England Journal of Medicine the result from a trial was published where statin treatment was combined with either niacin or ezetimib. Although cholesterol was lowered more in the latter group, significantly more got a heart attack. The _abstract_ () is here and you can read more about it in _NY Times_ () . Please note also that while reports from statin trials with an allegedly positive outcome always are freely available, you have to pay for reading this one. A further warning against cholesterol-lowering treatment comes from Glyn Wainwright, Luca Mascitelli and Mark R. Goldstein. You can read their paper _here_ () . Glyn and Luca are members of THINCS. Recently our member Duane Graveline was interviewed about statin side effects on television. Both parts of the intrview are available from _this website_ (http://ssptv.com/show.php?show_id=7) Jeff Cable, another of our members, have recently published _a scary report_ () about statin side effects. But I have good news also. Those of you who have followed our work already know that saturated fat isn´t a menace to human health. Recently WHO and FAO published a new report, _Fats and Fatty Acids in Human Nutrition_ () . Now, finally, their experts have come up with the same conclusion. Go to pages 191 and 239. However, they haven´t changed their guidelines! You can read more about that paper _here_ () . Finally, an interview with me is available _here_ (http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/12/05/Does-High-Cholest\ erol-REALLY-Cause-Hea rt-Disease.aspx) . Uffe Ravnskov This letter has been sent to you because you have previously shown interest in the many contradictions of the diet-cholesterol-heart hypothesis and/or the work of our group THINCS, The International Network of Cholesterol Skeptics, _www.thincs.org_ () .If you do not wish to be on the mailing list, please contact me and I shall delete your name.
