Guest guest
My boyfriend was recently diagnosed with Glioblastoma tumor.. he just had surgery this past thursday, and is still in the hospital. it was bloody and very veiny....i understand this type tumor is very aggressive....he could of had it as little as 6mos ago. developing... i here they have a drug called Trombar? that they give with chemo to kill the cancer cells..... can anyone give me any help in treatment and what is best that would prolong his life?? research? that has helped people with this type tumor?? clinical trials that have worked? he is in Dartmouth Hitchkock hospital up here in Lebenon NH Please HELP nancy
Guest guest
Dr. Simoncini has been nearly 100% effective in treating all types of brain cancer. You may be able to find an alternative Dr. in the US who could follow his protocol and save his life. Search his name. Guest guest
Did a search once for personal reasons as well. At the end it was not necessary, but here is what I found for what is worth. The book " Love, Medicine, and Miracles " by Bernie Siegel proved to be very useful. Another interesting book that a person with glioblastoma once recommended was " The Scalpel and the Soul " by Dr. Hamilton. Here is Dr. Simoncini's website: http://www.curenaturalicancro.com/ He is in Rome, but perhaps he has a list of practitioners in the US. As for other alternative treatments, most of the research is still on the drawing table and I focused on European centers, since that is my location. But here is what I found, in case you find it useful. (My research was done this last Summer). I don't know if your doctors are open minded enough, but I'll include some references FWIW: CANNABIS derivatives This is not about smoking pot!! As it gets deposited in blood brain barrier fat bilayer in such a way that it limits the uptake of the cannabis into the brain. People who smoke are still susceptible of developing brain tumors just like anybody else with the genetic and environmental predisposition. In fact, smoking pot numbs the emotions which is escapism, not a good approach in general. It has to be injected cannabis compounds into the brain liquid ( " intratecal " ). And a nonpsychoactive Cannabinoid compound is proving to be the most useful. It basically cuts the nourishment of the tumor itself and also inhibits tumor growth working at the DNA level and within the cell's biological cycle. [Neuropharmacology 47 (2004) 315–323. Hypothesis: cannabinoid therapy for the treatment of gliomas?] [Antitumor Effects of Cannabidiol, a Nonpsychoactive Cannabinoid, on Human Glioma Cell Lines -- Massi et al_ 308 (3) 838 -- Journal of Pharmacology And Experimental Therapeutics] [Cannabinoid Research Institute] [Daniela Parolaro, Dept. of Structural and Functional Biology, Pharmacology Unit and Center of Neuroscience, University of Insubria, Via A. da Giussano 10, 21052 Busto Arsizio (Varese), Italy. Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology I, School of Biology, Complutense University, 28040 Madrid, Spain] ANTIOXIDANTS There are those who think that gliomas have superantioxidants that help them survive and resist chemo and radiotherapy. And there are those who make the most sense, who say that antioxidants are needed to repair the malignant glioma cell's transduction systems and DNA. It seems that the ones " against antioxidants " have the typical killer mentality of allopathic medicine, of using chemo and radiotherapy and they also ignore or don't mention the role of NF kappa B (NFKB) in the whole mess. This NFKB is like a trojan horse, it was supposed to help but ends up actually screwing everything up, changing normal cells into malignant ones. There is research on antioxidants in general, like melatonin and N-acetylcysteine (NAC) AKA mucomyst (which is a source of glutathione) and gliomas. It is interesting because after giving NAC, they also gave a drug which opposes glutathione's effects to see what happened (this was not made in humans), and the NAC was still able to shrink the glioma. So NAC might be a better source than glutathione itself. Alpha lipoic acid. Here is a link with synthesized info: http://lpi.oregonstate.edu/infocenter/othernuts/la/ It takes care of the trojan horse NF kappa B (which has a huge role in gliomas) and repairs DNA. It is both water and fat soluble, so it also crosses the blood brain barrier very easily. It is the source of glutathione and it should be coupled with Vit E (fat soluble, hence, crosses more easier the blood brain barrier), Vit C (what is tolerated), a very good multivitamin/multimineral, Vit D, B Complex, Selenium, COQ10, magnesium and omega 3 (flaxseed oil and fish oil). There are actually studies showing that vit D shrinks gliomas when used on toxic doses, so they're trying to use analogs of Vit D that bypass the toxic effect. Melatonin. At high doses and as an antioxidant, shrinks gliomas and takes care also of the trojan horse NF kappa B in gliomas. N-acetyl cystein (NAC). It works at the cell's cycle level, repairing DNA and taking care of the trojan horse NF kappa B in gliomas. (2006] [Carmen Rodríguez, Universidad de Oviedo. Fax: +34 98 510 3618. E-mail address: carro (do they know about clinical trials? and more effective ways to deliver the antioxidants into the brain tumor?)] AMYGDALIN (LAETRILE OR B17) It is poisonous to cancer cells, but not to normal cells. It seems that the best route is oral supplements because it needs to get transformed into its active form in the intestines. Its basically a cyanogenic glycoside, and apparently cyanide poisoning with this therapy is anecdotal and/or questionable. There is info on the web, where they had used LAETRILE in glioblastomas with success. Someone told me that people go to Mexico for this treatment, but I really don't know for sure. SCORPION VENOM (?!) " The dried scorpion whole body (Quan Xie) has been widely used in traditional Chinese medicine based on the Chinese herbalism `combat poison with poison'. Even at the present time, it is still used as a drug to treat neurological symptoms, such as painful headaches, convulsion, seizures, swellings and paralysis. Scorpion venom contains a vast number of substances with different biomedical and pharmacological activity[...] " [scorpion venom induces glioma cell apoptosis in vitro and inhibits glioma tumor growth in vivo, Journal of Neuro-Oncology (2005) 73: 1–7] INHIBITORS OF THE G6PT (which has to do with glucose metabolism and anticancer nutrients working at that level) G6PT seems to play a role in regulating glioma cell survival and invasiveness. Guest guest
Dr. Johanna Budwig's diet is a good one, and I've read positive results with it from people with glioblastomas. Some people who didn't discarded meat from their Budwig's diet also had positive results, but they limited their quantities and stick to better qualities. And I personally prefer to stay away from all dairy products, including cottage cheese. Testimonials of brain cancer (Adenoma/Glioblastoma multiforme/Anaplastic astrocytoma/ Glioma) healed thanks to flaxoil & cottage cheese and/or full Johanna Budwig protocol) http://www.healingcancernaturally.com/brain-cancer-cure-testimonials.html Navegante
